I've been lurking for a while, but had to register so I could post this and let you all know:

My wife, who mailed her completed application 6/12, and DPS cashed her check on 6/26. She has plastic in hand as of yesterday 8/22.

Of course, I, who mailed the completed application 6/3, had my check cashed 6/12, am still "processing application"

I can't believe that hers came back quicker than mine, when mine was sent almost 2 weeks before hers. Our past addresses were exactly the same, in fact, she copied my paper because she didn't remember some of the places we'd lived nearly 5 years ago! Ahh, well, at least one of us can legally protect our family when out and about.

FYI, we both lived in Collin County, Denton County, Dallas County, and Los Angeles County during the last 5 years.

Hi wmj0981 and welcome to the forum! Nice to have you join us! :tiphat:

Wow! Your wife already has her license! That's the fastest issue time I've seen! Congrats to her. Time for her to join the forum as well.

As for you.....well what can I say? Who knows what kind of voodoo they use to issue the license? It seems magical that some people get theirs rather quickly and like in your case, it goes slower. Here's hoping it's not to slow. ;-)

Thank you for the welcomes. Hopefully my wait won't be too much longer, I'm going to call DPS tomorrow and see what's up.

Here's "the rest of the story"

My wife's plastic is actually in MY hands, not hers, because she went to Colorado on Wednesday to visit her parents. Because she can legally carry in her vehicle in Texas and Colorado, she took her Bersa .380 with her. When she arrived, she gave it to her dad to put in his gunsafe.

She left early this morning on her way back here, and (who doesn't see this one coming?) she left her gun in her dad's safe. He's going to mail it to her, but at least I have a small hope that I might receive my plastic before she gets her gun back!

Well, the wait begins. I completed my CHL class on Saturday and will be mailing my packet today!!
When I checked my status today, it was "Application Completed - license issued or certificate active." I hope I will have my renewal license by the end of the week.

When mine went to that status, it took about a week as well.

just checked my status online and it now shows this:

"No application or license/certificate active."

It did say processing application yesterday morning. Anybody have any idea what this means?

Wow.. June applicants are getting theirs already?

Us March and April folks apparently got forgotten about or something :smilelol5:
Cuz theres still a few dozen of us waiting, lol.

I think I might call DPS today and be like 'some friends of mine, who submitted their apps in JUNE, have their plastic already, whats goin on?'
See what their reply is.
