Does anybody know how long it takes the city of galveston to do a background check?? The DPS has had my application since mid feb. I contacted them today and they told me that "pretty much" the last thing they are waiting for is the background check from galveston. How long does that usually take?? 6 months is a long time for someone to do a background check... i wonder if my app got trapped under someone's keyboard for a few months..

I am in the same boat. I submitted my package some time back in February (i have lost track of the days) with no need to resubmit any thing, but I was informed Friday it would be in the mail and headed this way. my problem was I had 4 states and 6 addresses to cover. The 2 Texas addresses are Galveston pre Ike and Dickinson post Ike. I thought being active duty military and being in the federal system would speed the process. obviously i was wrong very wrong.

My wife and I live in Brazoria county, used to live in Harris county. Lived in Michigan from 2001 - 2004. My wife works in Galveston county and I work in Harris county.

I wrote and was told that they are waiting on the background check.
