Re: April 2009 Applications
I think this is the first April 2009 completion! PIN received/application processing on May 18, and today I see the wonderful message "Application Completed - license issued or certificate active". I sent in the paperwork on April 1. This is for Montgomery County.
Unfortunately, it's my wife's CHL, not mine. Mine went in on the same day but still shows "Processing Application". She's over there laughing at me right now.
I have no idea when it went active. I check mine daily, this is the first time I've checked hers in a couple of weeks. Proof again that a watched pot never boils.

Now you've gone and done it.....I was checking my status about once a week but since your and your wife's dates are so close to mine, I'll have to check mine every day now :-)Chip wrote:I think this is the first April 2009 completion! my wife is starting to think so
she is just happy im not out tearin up the town
the funny thing is , my son (16) picks on me because he used to spend so much time on his forum and i would tease him by saying .."are you playing with your virtual friends ? "
since im self employed , i check in in the morning, then when i get home, and finally before bed.
a fella has to keep up with the latest gossip

Congrates to your wife... Hope you fair better than me! Wife has had hers for three weeks now, still waiting on mine. http://www.texasshooting.com/TexasCHL_F ... 2&p=291819#" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; hmm drag and dropping Smilies in chrome seems to be broken :(Chip wrote:I think this is the first April 2009 completion! Re: April 2009 Applications
Mrs. Chip's plastic came in the mail today.... the application package was mailed to DPS 4/1/2009. So that's 79 days for her. Me? Still "Processing Application". We've lived in the same places at the same times for more than 20 years now, and our applications were mailed at the same time from the same post office. They went to "processing application" on the same day (5/18), so I'm at a loss to explain the difference.
I wonder if there's some secret reason why it's quicker to process women's applications. Maybe they are inherently more trustworthy, or DPS doesn't have to check status of child support payments or something. Of course, we know that Latina women are wiser than white men.....

Re: April 2009 Applications
I couldn't stand it.... called DPS to find out why, if we submitted paperwork on the same day, she has plastic and I'm still "Processing".
They're waiting on a Harris County background check for me.... not because I have LIVED there in the past five years, but because I have WORKED there in the past five years.
So I'm not going to bother checking status for the next couple of months.

Re: April 2009 Applications
I wonder how that is going to affect me. I live in TX, but I actually telecommute and I work for my company that is in FL. I also lived 2 of the 5 years in FL. I would love to know if they would be trying to get some kind of background check from FL.Chip wrote:They're waiting on a Harris County background check for me.... not because I have LIVED there in the past five years, but because I have WORKED there in the past five years.
