From the booklet:
Because active shooter situations are often over
within 10 to 15 minutes, before law enforcement
arrives on the scene, individuals must be prepared
both mentally and physically to deal with an active
shooter situation.

Thanks for sharing. It was an interesting read. There is some great ideas for those not comfortable carrying their own weapons IF the shooter is not in their general vicinity. But the ridiculousness of it all really becomes evident when the shoot is right in front of you and your life is "in imminent danger"

Yell?

Throw things?

"Acting as aggressively as possible against him/her" ... ... ... crap, there's no smiley face lying bloody on the floor w/ Xs over his eyes

Seriously!! Someone has a gun, is shooting, and their best advice is acting aggressively?

My favorite is "improvising weapons" ... you see, my 'improvised' weapon is my Glock 23.

10 to 15 minutes is the average length of an incident? It'd be 10-15 seconds if there was a responsible handgun carrier in that vicinity.

Legal or not... (see sig)

I would be more careful when quoting Dalai Lama. Dalai Lama was the political and religious ruler of Tibet - dictator, to be exact. The Chinese army's "invasion" changed all that. Dalai tried many times to restore his ruling but failed. In almost all his failed attempts, he relied heavily on foreign countries such as USA, which made him one of the biggest traitors in the view of the Chinese.

Read it a bit and understand his life/history a little more. here, a piece of quote from wikipedia:

"However, during 1959, there was a major uprising among the Tibetan population... Central Intelligence Agency paramilitary teams from their Special Activities Division were responsible for the Dalai Lama's successful clandestine escape from Tibet and the initial resistance fighters in Tibet to the Chinese communist forces."

See how nicely they worded "paramilitary teams?"

I am sure we can pick a proper term which is widely used today.

I like this one: "Quickly determine the most reasonable way to protect your own life."

Now that's easy to do. :fire :anamatedbanana

Remember, if you surrender to fear, the terrorists win.
When evacuating, pull over and enjoy a nice sunset.
Or a thermonuclear blast. Whatever's handy.
The woods are lovely, dark and deep.

Lets See the communist Red Chinese see him as a bad guy. Check
The Communist Red Chines tried to kill him. Check
Americans helped him escape. Check
He is leader of a religion that has been pursecuted by Muslim Terrorist. that teaches peace and meditation. Check
Americans like him and helped him escape. Check

They say you can judge a mans charactor by the friends he keeps, I say an even better judge of charactor is by the enemy he makes. I am sure I would enjoy the company of the Dalai Lama more than any Communist or other blood suckers
