IWB revolver clip on
I've seen some IWB revolver holsters that put the clip farther rearward so it isnt right next to the cylinder. Sounds like a good way to make it less bulky...or is this marketing hype? Thoughts or experiences with IWB holsters for a revolver?

Re: IWB revolver clip on
Can you show a link to what brand or model you are referring to. I use an IWB [High Noon DownUnder], but with leather belt straps, rather than a clip. I prefer straps for the convenience rather a clip. I never considered the bulk to be an issue.Charger wrote:I've seen some IWB revolver holsters that put the clip farther rearward so it isnt right next to the cylinder. The QuickClip from sideguardholsters.com is an example of an IWB that has the clip offset towards the trigger area so it isnt in line with the cylinder. I guess the argument could be made that this makes for a setup where the center of gravity is forward of the clip so the whole thing might try to rotate?

I think that the clip holster would tend to rotate. That is why I like the idea of two straps such as the Double Snap model. I believe it would be more stable in positioning and angle of cant.

Not an expert and no experience with the holster. But, I looked seriously at the same holster for my J frame and concluded that the holster could cause the butt to rotate outward from the body. Would be interesting to know for sure because otherwise looks like a good holster.

I use this holster appendix carry...
S&W Model 442 is very light, so no problems...
However, my S&W Model 19 is heavier and it will swivel slightly in it's holster of same type...
But not uncomfortable or unable to be carried...
Hope this helps...

Re: IWB revolver clip on
I would recommend your IWB holster for smaller revolvers have a cant and not a straight clip. The cant will help hide a snubby as it tilts the grip forward helping for concealment. Something like this.
