I feel like I should go ahead and start the July thread.

I first applied online in May of 2007, but never got serious about taking the class. That application expired shortly after my daughter was born last year. I finally registered for a course in July as a combination Fathers Day gift to myself/birthday weekend for my dad.

Now I am waiting for DPS to send my my PIN so I can go through the application process again. My guess is I'll be able to find it at home more quickly than I hear from them.

I applied online and got my packet & pin on 5/11 and mailed it back that day. On-line still says sent packet to applicant. How long does it take for them to update? Know its going to take forever but just hoping they got it and there's no issues or errors.

your online status should change to "processing application" at about 6 weeks (give or take a week) after they receive it.

Thirteen days in and DPS finally cashed my check. I wish I wasn't so diligent with counting the days… This is going to be torturous. I've already picked out the holster and belt I want, although I'm going to hold off on the belt for a while as I am trying to lose some weight. I'd hate to spend $90 on a belt that only fits for a few months.

Maybe I should call DPS and let them know my birthday is the 19th and they could expedite my application as a birthday present. Yeah, I thought you'd find that humorous.
