I'm pretty sure you can still get things rejected (prints, etc) in the 'proecessing' phase.... so I'm not going to stop worrying just yet :P

Yeah, that's right. Processing mean's exactly what it says. It means they finally got around to looking at your stuff and you can still get rejected, in fact I would guess that processing is the ONLY phase you can get rejected in. Before that, your app. is just sitting on a desk.

My application, paperwork and money order arrived in Austin on April 17,2009. I have not received my pin or anything from the state but I know it takes time. My problem is that I got a letter from the US Postal Service stating they were changing my zip code. Does anyone know if this can be corrected while my application is in process (PRIOR) to activating and sending my license? I really do not want to pay another $40.00 to get my address information change the week I get my new CLH card.

This has been covered in another thread:

http://www.texasshooting.com/TexasCHL_F ... 28&start=0" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I believe the consensus was to Call DPS immediately, and send them a copy of the letter you got, along with a new application form with your new address, to replace the one currently in the pile. If they haven't processed it yet, it may make it in for the original issue.

USA1 we have the exact same dates and both are going through Harris County.

If one of us doesnt get hung up on something missing,etc.. it will be interesting to see if we get the license about the same time.

It's dead, Jim.
The only CHL Related bill that I know of that passed is HB2664 - the 51% Sign Bill
At this time, it has been sent to the Governor

I talked to DPS. Processing Application only means that the application you sent in is no longer sitting in a pile of applications. When you are processing that means they are looking at the application and you can be rejected during the process. Example: for those of us who sent in an application on 4/9 it sat in a pile until somebody started loooking at it on 5/21.

Right now according to DPS it is taking 4 to 6 weeks before they even open your packet. Your processing date is really the date you should go by to measure the time of how long it takes to get your licnese because prior to that it was as if nobody even looked at it because they didnt. It was in a pile of applications.
