Re: December applications
I was at Kunsan from Jun 98 to Jun 99....I don't remember too much due to heavy alcohol consumption
What I do remember was working long hours and having fun after work. I also remember how nice the air was when they burned their rice fields....rather pleasant

Re: December applications
LOL - June 7, 1999 to June 1, 2000. I remember the Y2K scare and being on the side of a mountain bacause our commander didn't understand that "Satellite Communications" was NOT Wideband and we don't have to be on the side of a freaking mountain. We could have done the SAME shot from the Hump. I remember failing my TB test after riding the kimshi Bus to Seoul to the ElectroMart and I remember NOT being able to drink, in the ONE place in the world that you NEED to drink to get past the smells. And I remember the wheels of that glorious plane taking off, heading back toward the USA. I wasn't that happy ever; not coming out of Panama in 89, not Kuwait City via Iraq in 91. I was leaving an area of the world that I never want to visit again. LOL
P.S. Came to the Comm Squadron at Kunsan twice and I think I had it better than you....
P.P.S. Does the name Scully mean anything to you? He is the CC here now but was a CC at Kunsan then.

I'm a little different though...I'd love to go back as a civilian to tour S Korea. Older and wiser now...could probably appreciate things a little more not being a Turtle.
Oh yeah...did I mention that I got the 7 greatest words today on my hourly app check???
I say again...Application Completed - license issued or certificate active!

Re: December applications
Well, Friday the 13th must be a good day for me..... did the morning check ritual and found these magic words on my renewal:
Application Completed - license issued or certificate active
DPS received my renewal packet on December 24th, that's 79 days from receipt to issue.
Oh - I finally heard from my State Rep in response to the e-mail I sent them over a week ago seeking their help... they sent me a form letter e-mail to let me know that they do not accept e-mails. It suggested I call their office.

Re: December applications
So, I left out a certified copy when I sent my application in. I sent that when they requested it back in January. How long should I wait bfr I start plan B?

Re: December applications
Depending on how long it took them to restart processing when they received your addition, and assuming they completely reset the clock, the 60 days would be up by the end of this month. I'd recommend giving them a call in a week or so to find out how close they are.Paddler112 wrote:So, I left out a certified copy when I sent my application in. Future action would depend on their answer.
Re: December applications
Well i found out there was a delay in my application, but im not sure how long the delay will be.
Apparently, my TR100 was isued to one instructor in the group, but I was actually taught by another. So there was a problem with that.
The crappy part is that the letter was wrtiten over a month ago but my dad had it(we have same name) and not realized it until yesterday.
I called this morning and the person i talked to wasn't completely sure what was going on, because when she pulled up my file it had the note about a problem but then another note indicating the problem had been corrected. She asked me to call back tomorrow and she will check to make sure everything is ok.
Im guessing everyone that took the class with me had he same problem and so the instructor took care of it when the mistake was first realized.
Hopefully the wait wont be much longer. I was becoming hopeful, because I talked with someone else in Harris co that sent their application in a week after me but received their CHL last week.

Re: December applications
Well guys, it’s been 103 days from application receipt to plastic.
After many calls and emails to State Congressman/Representative (who were VERY responsive if not helpful {I’ll never know about helpful}) as well as multiple phone calls to DPS and an address change from Harris to Trinity counties during processing, I get to burn out of here.
On 3/16/09, I told CHLB staff that ‘I want the license or a letter of denial’ so that I could move the process off of Harris BG check where it had been since @ 1/21/09. She responded, “We’re not going to deny the license”. I didn’t understand how she could make that comment when the BG check wasn’t complete.
For those of you impatient types, I suggest you not take out your frustration on the CHLB people you speak with. They don’t set budgets and aren’t responsible for staffing. I appreciated the comment from the lady I’d been regularly dealing with who said I had been respectful and pleasant to deal with. No reason to aggravate the situation with people that don’t manage it.
I've got to make some final adjustments to my MTAC IWB and drive 60 miles to take my Glock for a walk. I’ll see you on other forums.
Here’s to never needing a weapon for SD and being fully prepared and justified by 12 if we do.
PS: Website shows license active as of today.

Re: December applications
Well. even though I saw the magic words on the 13th, still no plastic in hand here.
If it doesn't come in today's mail, I'm gonna have to make a trip out to the country to buy hay and oats...... so I can feed the Pony Express rider's horse when he finally shows up.

tired, hungry, thirsty and exhausted........
with plastic in Hand !
His round trip journey to Austin and back took
86 days, but only 7 days on the return trip
after they authorized what was in the letter
he carried.
Exhausted, the lone rider said he was
"waylaid by burokrats"
and that it was a tough journey because he
"had to avoid well planned ambushes by
roving herds of Demokrats from the north" !
He also said that if he could have open carried,
he could have reached his six shooter a lot faster !!!
After feeding, resting, and enjoying an ice cold
Lone Star, he is now on his way to the next
Texas Cowboy or Cowgirl waiting patiently........
This renewal expires in April of 2014.
Re: December applications
