Fedex shipping depot puts up illegal sign

#1

Post by HighVelocity »

I got to the main fedex shipping center in Fort Worth pretty regularly. Today however, I see a new "sticker" on the window next to the door. Looks like this one but has the words "no weapons" on it.

Leave them a card?

Actually, I think they should be made aware that their sign is meaningless under TX law, but there are those who disagree with me.

You can legally carry into most any place with a illegal sign. No reason to boycott them and no reason to send them a letter. Just do your job and keep it concealed. :?

As an after thought I want to say that those sign's are not "illegal" they are perfectly legal but we shouldn't be offended by them since they are not meant for us anymore than PC sec. 46.02 is.

Whom are the signs meant for? I am hoping you're not going to say BadGuys since they don't read signs.

They are meant for everyone who doesn't have a Texas CHL or a carry license from a state that we have a reciprocal agreement with.
I belive that a lot of Texan's still carry without a license just as they have all their lives, they shouldn't, they are breaking the law, it's illegal, I can't stress that enough, but I still find it hard to put all of them in the same category with the BAD GUYS.

I think such signs are meant to appease some folks, making them THINK that those posting them are keeping out CHL's, but not really doing it, so they don't get the CHL's riled up. IOW, they don't have the intestinal fortitude to be honest, either way. :!: :!:

Whenever I see a sign like that, I just ignore it and continue about my business. No need to get worked up by somebody else's stupidity, I save my energy for my own stupidity! I do find it ironic that FedEx will happily take your money to ship a handgun and post a sign like that, though.

Like others have said, I simply ignore signs like that.

That said....there are a few places I'd like to give one of those "business cards" to. Where can I get some that are a little more legible that I can print up??

You can get them from the TSRA online store. You can get 100 for around $10.

I print them up, double sided on business card stock, and pass them out.
