You may be surprised. There have been folks that got theirs real close to their birthday and it was actually for a little longer than 5 years! Congratulations and let us know which yours is.

Does anyone know what time of day they update the website?

I am getting so frustrated seeing the processing when I know everything is done and it is just sitting there waiting to be issued (per guy at CHL status line).

I had my plastic in hand before the website was updated, but it seems they do it overnight.

My wife received her license yesterday on her birthday. So I did not have to get her anything - just kidding - that would not have gone over well. Thought that was pretty cool though came in the mail on Texas Independence Day which also happened to be her Birthday.

Application Completed - license issued or certificate active

Finally it changed. Now the wait the for plastic in the mail begins.

By the way I checked the status this morning and was still processing.

Good Luck to everyone still waiting.

Received my plastic today, 91 days from DPS receipt of application materials. Thought it would never come.

Cheers, Dak

Interesting phone call with Felicia at the CHL office today.....

When I tried to check the online status of my December submitted renewal this morning, I kept getting a message stating that the information I was submitting was not the information they had on file. A phone number was listed, so I called and spoke with Felicia.

She first said that their system was experiencing problems, that was the reason for the error message.

Then she proceeded to tell me that I did not need to check the on line system but every 2 or 3 days, that checking it daily did no good.

She also stated that I needed to wait at least 60 days to check anyway. When I told her that her office received the packet in December, she said "oh". She then asked for my social security number to check on things.

In short order she came back and said that my background check was the reason, that it had something do do with my criminal history. When I replied that I have never had a criminal history anywhere, she said "Well it must be something do with child support." When I replied that I have been married for 27 years and have never had an issue with child support anywhere, she said "Well it might be something to do with mental issues". I then assured her that there has never been a problems along those lines.

She finally said that she was not a technician and she did not know why it was taking so long.

In closing, I said that I would just have to wait a little longer. She replied with "You should be getting it soon".

That had to be the most confusing phone call I have ever made. I think every single thing she told me was a stall tactic, nothing more. :banghead:

reckon if you had an outstanding traffic fine you could use...

"well maybe somebody misplaced it"
"perhaps it wasn't entered properly"
"maybe the clerk has mental issues" "rlol"

I called my senator's office today and spoke with his assistant. She said that they are really working to get more funding for the DPS CHL office because of the number of complaints that they are getting.
I spoke with another person in another office relate to this who said that less than 20% are getting issued in the first 60 days.
Kinda sad but that's the way that it is.
