I'm with you on both of those. But I'll be honest, my biggest concern is the "dumbing down" of society due to 'web speak'. "OMG r u [abbreviated profanity deleted] reelz?" "c u l8r!" I see this in formal writing!

Another thing, and I am just as guilty, is the reliance of spell check. It should just be turned off. People my age should be able to spell 'recommend'. :tiphat:

Everyone can spell. It's just that some don't spell well. LOL

My grammatical pet peeves:

People who don't know the difference between: "your" and "you're" or "there", "they're", and "their"

People who use apostrophes to pluralize words: "Honey, have you seen my shoe's?", "The car's are all parked", "My rifle's are locked in the safe"

This one would really irk me:

"Your going to die because there rifle's are pointed at you" :nono:

Loose is another of those words people confuse with lose.

How about "rediculous" or "coarse" when they mean ridiculous and course.

Of course, I haven't a clue how to properly use commas. I just shake them on like pepper and hope for the best.

I guess we all have our failings...

I'm with Kythas. The misuse of possessive plural never fails to draw my attention.

You can't use too much pepper or too many commas. :smilelol5:

I dislike statements that are repititously redundant:

Such as, i.e. : I got up at 7 am, in the morning.

/signed/ Me Myself

I had a computer instructor who liked to use irrevalant for the word irrelavant. We tried to tell him, but he never got it. :banghead:
Irregardless, I learned alot from his class.

I could go on and on, ect.
