Re: Introduce yourself
Hi all. I just found this site today while surfing GlockTalk want ads. User there has a link in his sig line.
Here goes:
56 yrs. old
Male
School District Police Officer/Chief (I is the only one!)
Married for 31 years
One 26 yr. old son who teaches school
Had my CHL since 2003
Carry either a Glock 36 or a Kahr CW9, depending on weather and what kind of mood I am in.
This looks like a great site that I can learn a lot from and meet new friends. See ya around.

Re: Introduce yourself
Hi, I'm a 55 yr. old, graduate Forester from the Winnsboro area of N.E. Texas. I've had my concealed carry license for almost a year now. I'm married (she's also CC) and have 2 grown & married children. I like what I've seen of this forum so far. I was part of another forum (nation wide) and didn't know about this one until it was mentioned by a family member (already a member). I've grown up with and around guns, but certainly don't pretend to be an expert by any means. I'll probably look & read much more than I post, but will enjoy having some "fellow texans" to bounce the occasional question off of.

Re: Introduce yourself
Well, I learned of this forum from one of the Senior Members here from another forum. I've been reading throughout the day to the point my eyes are about to fall out...burning and itching, but very interesting reading. The format is quite different from the other forums, but I'm getting acclimated to it.
My name is Stan, I'm an ex-police officer from the Houston area (Baytown). I'm retired and currently living in Minnesota (Kind word for FROST BITE FALLS). I've been married for 42 + years, two Children, eight Grandchildren and two Great Grandchildren. Besides being a licensed peace officer and carried a weapon at all times for years, I am now a holder of the CCW (Utah) permit that covers 28 states which includes the state of Texas through reciprocity. I'm looking forward to participating within this forum.

Re: Introduce yourself
Welcome all!
Stan, I gotta ask: How did you, a former Texan, give Minnesota the nod?
BTW, just to rub it in, December 30 in Houston will see a low of 40, a high of 65, with partly cloudy skies and no forecast of percipitation.
Thanks for your service. And are you sure you don't wanna come back?

KsSteve welcome. I grew up my first 18 years in Kansas. I still have family there. I got to Texas as fast as I could. Getting here took me to California, Missouri, Okinawa, Japan, North Carolina, Kuwait and Iraq. But I am here now. You will love this site, they have alot of seasoned folks that can help anwser most questions.
Good to have you Happy New Years!

Re: Introduce yourself
Getting to Minnesota was stupidity...wanting to go back to Texas? Yes, in the worst way, but with the housing market like it is now, I'd loose my shirt selling my home. Equity has dropped over $60,000.00. Doesn't cost anything to dream and reminisce though.Skiprr wrote:Welcome all!

Re: Introduce yourself
This thread is pretty cool; however, furnishing a little generic information in your profile as to age, background and general location may perhaps help others understand where you're coming from with your theme/idea/opinion in your various posts - at the time of the post. You reckon?
