DFW Gun Range
I visited the DFW Gun Range in Dallas today, and I wanted to post a tidbit about my experience. I wasn't there to shoot, I was shopping in their showroom, and I got to talking to one of the guys behind the counter about a problem I was having with my Springfield 1911 "Loaded."
He was having a hard time understanding my issue, so I went out to my car and retrieved it to show him. He mentioned something that he thought would work, then he said heck, I'll just run back to the shop with it and fix it real quick. He was back in 10 minutes and explained what he had done, and that if I still had problems to bring it back and he would work on it a little more.
Now I've got to say I didn't even buy this gun at their shop, and he didn't charge me anything to spend 10 minutes working in it form me. Now that is customer service.
Try getting that from an Academy, or a Walmart. I'd rather spend a few dollars more and know I am supporting a local business that not only cres about it's customers, but also cares about the 2A and shooting sports.

It is quite the facility! One of the guys on here is the training director, and I have had the oppurtunity to shoot the bull with a few guys that work there.
I highly recommend it! Great post.

Re: DFW Gun Range
Thanks for the post. I am the Training Director there, and recently was made GM. The guy you spoke to was JOE. He is former LEO, and a heck of a gunsmith. I am amazed at his skill. He is a good man, too.KRM45 wrote:I visited the DFW Gun Range in Dallas today, and I wanted to post a tidbit about my experience. I will pass on your kind words.

Always nice to hear of good customer service. All too often all you read/hear is negative experiences. You would likely never get anything more that a blank stare from the individual behind the counter at a big box store.
I like the local/small/Mom & Pop gun stores. Ther's getting much more rare. It isn't as much fun hanging out and shootin the bull at Academy.

I see you haven't read your PM welcoming you to the forum, so I'll do it here. Thanks for registering and I'm truly happy for the experience and perspective you bring to the "family."hmb wrote:How 'bout an address?
Since this is in hmb's profile, I'm not giving away any private information. hmb is a prosecutor in N.E. Texas and I think his insight as to how the system works from a prosecutor's perspective will be a great resource for us all. Thanks for joining us!

Chas.
