There has been lots of discussion on here about the XD's, including the subcompact. The search function should bring up a lot of info for review. There may also be members that have gotten one recently that will want to share their experiences.

I can tell you I have shot one and it is a wonderful piece of gear. I would highly recommend it, and Springfield's service is second to none! :thumbs2:

I have the XD9 Tactical, and my friend had the XD9 SC. We actually went shooting yesterday, he was shooting 5" groups from 15yrds with his SC. I know its accurate but im not sure about the recoil.

I have an XD 9 Sub-Compact and an XD 40 Sub-Compact. They are fantastic weapons. The trigger is the only downside to the weapon but the quality of the gun is great. I would easily recommend this to anyone. Your wife should have no recoil problems with the 3" barrel. That said, this gun is slightly harder to conceal that many other similar caliber weapons because it is considerably wider. My wife shoots the XD 9 Sub-Compact with no problems at all.

Great... She really likes the feel of it in her hand... I have a Glock 23 and I love it.. but she feels the recoil is to much for her and she is timid with the gun.. To me she would not have a huge issue concealing seeing that it would be in her purse or if I can get her to carry with a IWB... we will see on that.. Thanks for all your input... the more the better... as of now I am going to get it for her... I do have one more quesiton.. when you buy it online you can save on the cost, but you have to have it shipped I guess local that can do your BG check..... I buy most of my guns from Academy as the see to be priced good.. but will they take another gun stores.
Thanks David

If you buy it online you will have to have it shipped to FFL. Most of them will charge a transfer fee. I've seen it go between 10 and 25 dollars based on whether you have a CHL. Academy will not do the transfer as far as I know. Your best bet is to find a private FFL to have it shipped to. Good luck and enjoy the weapon. I might also add that you might consider finding a local range that can rent one to you so she can get a feel for it before you buy. Just my $.02.

The XD 9mm sc is one of the top 3 most accurate handguns I've come across, regardless of barrel length. I've shot my fair share of handguns.

I took me wife to shoot a handgun for the first time a couple of weeks ago. She shot my XD9 SC and my Glock 26. It did not take long for her to comment that she defiantly prefers the XD.

I love mine, it is easy to conceal for me and I like the high cap mag with grip extension (if you want the rounds). I carry w/ 10 rnd in the weapon and two spare 16 rnd mags. My wife loves the gun as well, it is very easy to handle (she has issue with the safety features). over my gun carrying days I have had a Taurus PT-111, Keltec 9mm and the Beretta 9000S (.40) and the XD9 SC is my absolute favorite. IF I didnt have to compromise with the wife about safety features a XD40 would be my next buy, but I ma getting the PX4 Storm as a compromise. The XD9 at Academy (410/Vance Jackson in SA) yesterday was priced at $529 for the XD. I have put about 1500 rnds over the 2 yrs I have owned it, carried it everyday and have had no problems w/it.

I purchased a NIB XD40 SC at the fort worth gun show about 6 weeks ago for 420.00 + tax. I'd look around a bit, that seems a big high, but perhaps the prices have risen since then due to election concerns. Either way, you and your wife will be very pleased with your XD9SC!

:woohoo Mine is nearly invisible in its Don Hume J.I.T. slide holster under an over shirt.
Oh! :fire Did I mention that I like my XD 9 SC so much that I just ordered a XD .45 Service from Bud's? :clapping:

:txflag:

PS:

This XD 9 SC became mine after Mrs. Oldgringo decided it was to heavy for her purse and/or fannypack. :thumbs2:
