Plastic arrived yesterday via UPS overnight. :anamatedbanana :anamatedbanana :anamatedbanana :anamatedbanana
I guess because i contacted both my state rep, senator, Lt. Gov, and Gov Several times by email. I am not sure if that is what got it done finally or if it just took it's course but i am happy to have it either way. :woohoo

Took my wally walk last night ate a Chili's and went to Wally world after. I was nervous at first but got more comfortable as night went on. :biggrinjester:

Good luck to all of you who are left waiting. I sure hope that they will be ready for all of us in 4 years when it comes time to renew! "rlol"

I'm still here...and really starting to get irritated at the DPS at this point.

Im still here. I spoke to the DPS last week and the lady informed me that all applicants who are on their last step of their approval have to be enterd into a general query and that is done on Tuesdays. If everything is good to go they issue the licenses on Thursday. Does anyone know about this? She said I was ready to go into the query and to call them early next week for a status.

Well lets just hope that quary includes all of us. But I am just glad I am not the only one left around here. I know if it wasn't for this forum I would have already gone off the deep end. I think the only other thing keeping me going is that I have been going to the range about once or twice a week for the last month.

I mailed my app via 'certified mail' so will it be sent normal delivery or overnighted?

I once again called the DPS yesterday to see if they had recieved my background check info that they had been waiting 6 week's for and was told everything look's fine and your app should be completed shortly but she could not tell me if it had been recieved yet? I also brought up the case of other CHL holder's who had recieved their plastic already but were anywhere from 1-6 week's behind me. I was told hogwash and the rep basically contradicted herself when she said "We had a time frame, May and June, where they recieved a huge increase in application's. Then she proceed's to tell me that all application's are processed in the order in which they are recieved  !! I said nothing but thank you for your time and I want to let you and everyone else in the processing dept know that we (I mentioned this forum) all appreciate your hard work and the extra time you and the DPS are putting in to catchup.

I had also mentioned that I had left two voicemail's to the rep handling my application and had yet to recieve any correspondence which she said was odd because normally they are very prompt with replie's. Maybe it's just me, that's why I never go to Vegas  .

They can say that all they want, but it's painfully obvious that this is NOT the case. From what I've seen, there is absolutely no accountability nor is there any kind of organization over there in processing these. There is however,a very organized effort to cash checks and process payments.

Well some of the background checks can take a variable amount of time.

Let's say they get two apps, mine first, yours next.

They process them exactly in that order. Then on day #5 of actual processing, they submit mine for the background check in my county, and yours in your county the very next day.

Then my background check takes 6 weeks to complete, yours takes 1 week.

So you get your CHL 5 weeks earlier than I do.

Did they process them out of order? Who knows.

anyway I don't necessarily think they are truly processing them in order but I don't think it's as bad as we are making it to be. I think they have a poorly executed process, or one which has formerly been bad but now is in flux or improving, and they are just trying to make it work as best as they can. Maybe there's a better way, maybe they mess things up, but it's not intentional.

Well I just checked the DPS website and it changed today from processing application to Application Completed - license issued or certificate active !!!!!
So now I feel sorry for the mail man because I will be hounding him till the plastic shows up.

But on another note I also checked my Brothers status just now and he is still in processing application on the web site. We submitted it at the some time.
