Taco Cabana revisited

I had to stop at a Taco Cabana a couple of days ago. I wasn't carrying (I work for the prison system and was visiting a prison unit). There were no signs of any kind attempting to bar concealed carry. No miniature 30.06 signs, no gun-buster signs, nothing. Well there was the unlicensed possession sign required for a business with a liquor license (<51%). I didn't give them any business, I just stopped because I needed a bathroom, but now, Imight just stop for some food next time.

This particular Taco Cabana was on I-45 North in Spring, in case you wanted to know.

I checked out the store on Bay Area Blvd in Webster and saw no anti-gun signs.

I'll look at the one here in Cedar Park. We go there all the time :) I recall seeing a sign there some time ago.

Taco Cabana has already expressed company policy . The fact that they had the sign to begin with is enough of a deterant for me. There are a lot of Taco restaurants in Texas. I'll choose their competition such as Taco Bueno, Bell, Casa, etc.

Wouldn't you choose to reward someone that decides to change their behavior in a positive manner?

Not that I want back in this fight, but I tend to choose a restaurant based on lots of qualities not only limited to the CHL policy. I guess you just have to balance it however it works out for you. I won't reward a company with my business if their product stinks or is over-priced.

Here's to hoping this is a new Taco Cabana policy. That would end all debate for me. I guess I am in the minority in that I am a CHL holder who likes Taco Cabana's food.

My wife loves Taco C.

Balance, yes. if a company goes out of their way to tell me they don't want me, or my kind, there, then I will be benevolent enough to oblige them. Don't tell TxI I said that, btw.
If their food was that great, they woulda put all the other places out of business.
I like CabanaRama rather well. and was quite disappointed when I found out about their asinine policy (I usually would use the drive-through). I was more disappointed about, I dunno, Terrence Newman being out.... or a CD skipping... them being out of BlackBeanBurgers in the cafeteria (I'm a meat-e-tarian)...

It would seem that way.

In several other threads, forum members have asked about the "No Guns = No Money" cards to give to merchants who post "Ghostbuster" or legal 30.06 signs. So you give them a card and they remove their sign you still won't patronize their business? If that is the way you think what is the point?

Some things are just more important than a good taco. I look at things very simply.
Although I have eaten their food, enjoyed it. There are some things more important than good food.
There are thousands of restaurants around me. Only Taco Bell want me to be unprotected. They therefore are our enemy. Because have taken actions that could get us hurt or killed.While I understand that a lot of folks aren't going to understand the hard solid line of black and white those tacos just can't taste good enough to remove the taste of bile when I get near those places. Sometimes a man has to take a stand. Boyotting TC is one one of the easier choices in life. I do believe that we should reward them if they change their mind.

Many businesses are happy to take my money, without feeling the need to restrict my right to personal safety. Taco Cabana isnt one of them.

Now, "IF" they have changed thier corporate policy on law-abiding gun owners, I would certainly reconsider my stand. However, I do not think this is that case, rather a couple of stores have just forgotten to put up the proper signs.

well maybe you guys should stop using the internet then.

I guarantee you that in using the internet, you are using equipment built by the company I work for, and they definitely and unequivocally restrict my right to use a gun for self defense while on their property, and this applies to customers, visitors and employees alike.

Easy to be real black and white, line in the sand, stand firm on your rights, kind of thing when it's convenient.

But there are all kinds of things we all buy and consume, whether we know it or not, from companies or organizations who oppose our right to carry. Unless you live in the woods, get power from a windmill and grow your own food, then get used to it.
