I just sent an email to the governors office about my chl wait. I am approaching 120 days and have been given a multitude of excuses for why it is taking so long. The last one was that the FBI is taking too long with background checks. I'll probably never get my CHL now. :-)

Both my CHL and DL expired on the same day in August this year. I took the CHL renewal class on June 15th and mailed the completed package to DPS a couple of weeks later. I renewed by DL about three weeks ago and was told to expect my DL in about 2 weeks. I received a letter from the DPS yesterday and opened it expecting my DL. I was very surprised and extemely happy when it turned out to be my CHL. Less than 60 days; closer to 45. Maybe the recent changes at DPS are paying off.....or maybe not. I still haven't received my DL, but I am a happy camper just the same! :thewave

I just got off the phone with the DPS customer service team. My application is still processing. :banghead: According to the person that I talked to the average time it is taking for a package to get entered into their system is 30-60 days. This is not included in their processing counter. He then told me that their turn around time is now 120-150 days. So according to what he just told me ... it could take as much as 210 days to get your license :nono:
