Delivery via UPS?

#1

Post by artificialgrey »

My status just recently went "Application Completed - license issued or certificate active" - so I have started the process of waiting for my plastic in the mail. I've read a few posts recently that stated some applicants have been receiving their plastic via UPS (brown trucks). Can any of you guys confirm this as a delivery method or did some people just receive overnight service after getting their local government officials involved in the process? I ask because the difference between receiving mine via USPS and UPS actually will make a significant difference in how I check to see if it's gotten here or not (apartment complex has an odd mail delivery routine). Has anyone who recently got their plastic gotten it the old fashioned way - via USPS?

Thanks

07/15 Changed to 'Processing Application'
08/13 'Application Completed - license issued or certificate active'
08/15 Plastic in hand
73 Days total w/o any calls to DPS or state rep

I received mine via UPS, but I believe most receive theirs through regular mail. My State Rep was involved with my completion and shipping.

I think UPS is only used when state representatives are involved. I received mine via UPS and I too involved my state representative.

For delivery confirmation, no doubt.

Then why not use certified U.S. mail?

You can get confirmed UPS delivery without having someone at home to sign for it. When I get a certified mail notice, I have to play tag with the post office for days before I can actually pick it up.

Got my plastic today via good ol' USPS - looks like the UPS treatment is so DPS can have proof of delivery to those that involved their state Reps.
