Well I am still here with ya. I talked to Simone today ans she said there were no issues with my app. Apparently my county Sheriffs dept took too long to get it back to the DPS. She said it should be here in the next 2 weeks.

Yikes, I just got off the phone with DPS a few mins. ago and talked to the lady that’s working on my case.

I almost fell off of my chair when she told me this, but she said she will be issuing my license TODAY!!!!! :hurry: :fire

Woo hoo, so after 169 days of waiting, my license is on the way to the printer then off to me! Maybe I'll see it this week. Regardless, I'm just happy that my wait is about to come to and end!

To all of y'all March folk still waiting, hang in there your wait is almost over! :txflag:

Congrats! I know that you have waited a long time. Hopefully, it won't be much longer till you have the plastic in hand.

Guys, I got the good news today: Application Completed.

I've lived it with you guys: bad fingerprints, calls to state reps, etc. Be patient guys, it will come soon enough.

My 25 y.o. son and I took the same course together and I mailed our applications at the same time. They were both received by DPS on March 26th. In mid-May, my son's license arrived in the mail. I have yet to receive mine. I don't have so much as a traffic ticket, so I can't image what the hold up is!

I've called four times and got a different answer every time. 1)waiting on two background checks, 2)background checks are complete, waiting on supervisory approval, 3)everything is complete, should be finished soon, then finally, 4)those people you spoke to before don't work here any more and they didn't even have access to the information they were telling you....

So, on August 18th, I sent the following email.

I am fully aware of the recent sudden increase in the number of applications received by DPS. However, there seems to be more than a "normal" delay in the processing of my application, which has been in DPS's system for more than 145 days.

If there is a problem or question, I would appreciate an opportunity to address any concern. Otherwise, I would equally appreciate an explanation other than "we're swamped".

Assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

On August 20th, I received this reply from CHL@txdps.state.tx.us-

Dear Mr. Tisdale,

I understand your concern and apologize for the delays you have experienced. We are on the final step of processing your application. Please allow a little longer.

Christopher Pierce
Texas Department of Public Safety

Obviously, I'm still waiting...........
