Just Curious

I should be getting a Kel-Tec PLR 16 in a trade soon. Since it is classified as a pistol, is it legal for conceled carry, on a person or in a car? Thanks.

In a car without a license: yes
On your person without a licence: only at home or in your car, or one your way from one to the other.
On your person WITH a licence: yes, as long as you have your licence with you and obey the "off limits" areas

Hope that helps :tiphat:

Not that I would actually carry it, I just wanted to know if carrying an AR-15 pistol was legal.

So it's an AR-15 classified as a pistol? I'll yield to someone who has experience with that, since I only deal with the traditional pistols. If it really is classified as a pistol though, I personally don't see wwhy you couldn't conceal it, within the bounds of concealed carry law.

A trenchcoat might get a little warm in August. It makes a great vehicle gun, however.

You'll want to buy a Yankee Hills flash suppressor, if it doesn't already have one.

Really reduces the fireball.

wow. that's awesome. i just looked up what that looks like.

can i shoot it when you get it? :) :)

chambered in the 5.56 to so it's essentially a short AR15 and they're going between $300 and $500 on gunbroker (which is usually high in their prices).

I may have to pick up my first kel-tek when i can spend $$ again :)

You can carry a concealed rifle in Texas if you're not a felon, etc.

I keep thinking a long gun in a duffel bag would be just the ticket for places that post 30.06 signs. "rlol"

One HECK of a carry peice..maybe if you were in Alaska and had it stuck in a parka or something

Short + rifle round = MASSIVE muzzle blast and really lousy ballistics!

I have carried it on person as well as a car gun. It fits into a backpack and the standard 30 round mags work with it. I don't carry long guns into higher risk areas like unfamiliar cities but I do this. Especially since the laws are not understood. This gives me the option of something that will "reach-out" a bit further and pack more of a punch. It is a legal pistol that can do when a long gun is what is best. That old "Stuff" Hits The Fan" situation doesn't wait for someone to run home and get a rifle. This is that "gap" gun. I had still rather have a rifle though.

And yet it's perfectly legal.
