I was going to have a shoot this 5th, but seems like everyone is busy with the 4th :patriot: I may do some small target, or just do a few batches on my press that morning. Next Saturday (July 12th) I am planning a shoot for all. Just send me an email and you will get directions and such. I should also have a good update from the WILCO detective if he had a chat with her... :woohoo

Been kinda quiet. However this Saturday I am planning a shoot :fire

I did get more info on my next door crazy lady. It appears she is an appraiser (which would explain her knowledge of flood plains). Knowing this make me think this is more sounding like a future land grab....

My bro and I have decided we are going to move the range out of the flood plain for a few reasons:

1. Cost of engineering
2. Every time we will want to change the range we will have to go through the process again.
3. Crazy lady would think of calling TCEQ and/or EPA about lead. That would then cost me even more to show nothing is wrong.

So we are working to plan a larger range up hill just a bit with much larger hills and improved cover. Since we are remaking our range we are also going to have running water and power this time. We also plan to have the range DPS approved for CHL right after we are finished. We plan to start on it this fall, maybe sooner if we can get some equipment.

But in the mean time.....I am going to shoot!!!!! :fire

Awesome! I'll be bringing my 10'x10' pavilion out there to provide a little shade that morning. I'll probably head out after lunch unless things are really going well. I'll be bringing a couple of coolers if any of you need a place to stash non-alcoholic drinks or food. If anyone is bringing a grill out there, let me know and I'll bring something besides a couple of sandwiches to eat.

I'm really looking forward to this! =-]

Living in the country is wonderful except for the Noise from all the shooters and neighbors.

I had some annoying neighbors and they were NOTHING but trouble until I treated them like dirt.

Now they leave me alone.

I would sue her. She is a bully and you'll probably make all the other people she has picked on happy.

Any AR's coming? I'd like to try shooting one (never have before). I'll be happy to bring my own ammo if someone's willing to let me try out their rifle. I have an AR I just bought a lower for (still need to go to Mooney and do the FFL transfer...maybe tomorrow?).

Brian, I don't know if you are aware, but CHL instructors are the ones that certify ranges. DPS only hands out numbers for them now, after the instructor gives them the info.

Take away the second first, and the first is gone in a second.

Brian, I didn't get an updated email from last week's response, so I'm assuming the shoot still begins at 8. Hopefully, the clouds are generous with us today. =-]
