Great now we will start hearing things like. "Does this Holster make my gun look bigger" or "Can I really wear a Black holster with Brown pants."

For once women will have to wait on the guys to get dressed casue they can't make up their mind what holster goes with which outfit.

I would probably continue to carry concealed most of the time anyway, and I would probably continue to use the pretty good IWB holsters I've already purchased. That being said, I might also be tempted buy a nice OWB each for my Kimber and my USPc for those occasions when I felt comfortable with open carry. For the 1911 OWB, I would consider a belt slide type in case I wanted to carry different sizes of 1911s. But even with an OWB holster, I probably wouldn't carry right out in the open most of the time, and I wouldn't bother getting an OWB for my 642 or P3AT, since I bought them both expressly for pocket carry. What open carry means for me is simply that I would be under less legal burden to be extremely fastidious about concealment. So I would still cover up, but if something peeked out from under the edge of my shirt, I wouldn't be as concerned about it - if that makes any kind of sense.

I too would probably carry concealed the majority of the time, but the option would certainly be nice.

If I were to carry openly it would probably be my Wilson Combat Protector in a Hand Tooled Deputy Marshall Rig by
Kirkpatrick Leather of Laredo, TX. I would get the holster custom made similar to what's shown but with the trigger covered.
Probably only used for BBQ's and other Social gatherings.

XD45 4 inch. I carry it in the winter when I can and would OC it in a heartbeat.

Man, OC would be an expensive deal for me....

I'd hafta get matching Kimber Eclipses (or springer Loaded, in black stainless), with a dual holster rig, with some kind of Lara Croft inspired magazine dealy-flotcher.

and on those off-days when I'm slummin' it, I'd carry my Beretta 92 in the Air Force issue side holster that my Pa gave. you know, sentimental value and all

Although I carry 1911's right now i would have to break out the HK USP .45. I have an OWB Blackhawk Serpa holster for it in IDPA use and both are too pretty to conceal. Gun is honking big, cant carry IWB. Would also carry the 1911's as well.

I'd probably mount my satin finished 686 with some nice burled wood. Carry it in a slick brown horsehide, with matching double stitched 1.75 brown horsehide belt. I would also like to carry IWB, with no cover shirt, and the grip exposed above the belt.

I wouldn't foresee much of a change for me. I already carry my Hi-Power (a good-looking gun in and of itself) in a Galco Combat Master OWB holster, so there's not much more to do for comfort's sake. I like my pistols black, for concealment's sake, and wouldn't likely change to a shinier gun just because I open carried.



The places I would OC were it made legal would generally be places like family property and land. I could see myself OCing at informal gatherings and the like, such as parties/gatherings with close friends and family such as holidays. Otherwise, concealed is the way for me. I'm not going to be OCing in a situation where retention is a concern, so there would be no need for a retention holster. Perhaps a tacticool thigh holster for hiking trips in the back country would make its way into my collection.

I'd definitely get a BBQ gun for OC, although it would vary a bit from the traditional, because I don't like scrimshaw or engraving. I'd invest in the fine leather appropriate for such a gun, too. Nothing ostentatious, just appropriately high quality.
