Fondled one today at the Cabelas in Buda. Although they had two in stock, the counter guy said that they had both been sold and awaiting pick up. I'm not sure how that works...

Asking price was $299.

Actually, that is only their display model. They have 39 folks on the waiting list as of tonight when I was there. Price marked on them is $289.

Keith,

I got the first one they received for $289. The fit and finish is first-class. I'm a bit surprised that they did not use a metal mag release as this has always been an issue with the P3AT.

In case anyone is interested, the Academy in College Station had one earlier this evening. $289 if I remember correctly...

My need for a pocket pistol is encroaching on my desire to wait on purchasing one of these. With all the positive reviews that have been coming out about these pistols, I think my pocket carry needs are beginning to outweigh my first revision caution. Barring some major news of problems, I'm planning on finding and purchasing an LCP as soon as the tax man sends me my refund.

Now I need to find a place nearby that carries them.

The size/weight does have some appeal - and I have two other Rugers (revolvers) that have been rock solid. I'd like to think they might have a similar 9mm on the drawing board ... Yeah, it would probably be real snappy ...

After hours at the last Market Hall gun show, I visited a bit with the "new" Pager Pal guy. He'd been pushing a "slip-on" pocket holster for the Kel-Tecs - which also fits the new Rugers. It's rather stiff and has a hole around the trigger guard but does not cover the slide. He'd been flashing an ATF "letter of approval" for it the whole show - and getting $50 per holster. ;-)
