Excellent! Are you going to Marksville next week? I know I'll see Cathy New and the gang there. Tell Tommy Cobos the old Texarkana crew says hey.

Judging from the dates of the posts, I'm a bit late to the party. I've been a gun owner for a while. I used to shoot IHMSA long range handgun silhouette years ago, but I got away from it.

Now that I'm in a better position in life, I'm going to brush up and take my CHL class later this year. To commemorate the occasion, I just bought a brand new Glock 22. I wanted to get familiar and comfortable with it before I sign up for the class.

Along with the Glock and my Thompson Contender (numerous barrels), I also have a 1911A1 Auto Ordnance, Dan Wesson 357 Super Mag revolver, Colt Police Positive .38 Special revolver, and a S&W Model 19 357 Magnum revolver.

I've already gleaned a lot of information from this forum, and hope to learn more.

Sorry I have not done this sooner, just saw a link in another post I was reading.

Age - 34
Gender - Male
Profession/school status - Network Engineer
Marital status - Married (w/ 4 kids)
Years CHL - Just sat for class on 3/22 at DFW Gun Range (92 on written exam and 248 on proficiency test)
Carry guns/equipment - S&W Sigma .40 (for the price I couldn't pass it up), not a bad gun after a trigger job. I always have a knife on me, right now a simple Gerber pocket knife.
"Don't hit at all if you can help it; don't hit a man if you can possibly avoid it; but if you do hit him, put him to sleep." - Theodore Roosevelt

Howdy!

I just wanted to stop in and introduce myself. My friends call me Bonz.

My soon-to-be wife and I took the course on March 15th and sent in the paperwork on March 17th. DPS cashed the checks on March 25th. I'm sure we're still a couple months out, but it's good to know there's a support group for folks like us.

As a side note, when we are legal, my "soon-to-be" will carry an S&W 642-2 and I will carry an S&W M&P9c. Both are in fitted Don Hume leather holsters. I prefer OWB and she currently prefers IWB clipped in an interior pocket of her handbag.

I've shared this website with the soon-to-be Mrs. AggieBonz02 and I think she would enjoy coming here to visit with the other ladies.

We are to be wed on June 28th of this year.

Hello all,

My name is David and I've been lurking around this site for some time. So I figured I'd introduce myself.

Some of you may already know me, I run Texas Gun Trader.com . I'm an active shooter in the Austin area. I like to shoot pistols and rifles equally.

I look forward to joining you in your conversations in the future.

Hello everyone my name is Gregg and I am a native Houstonian. I'll be 44yr's old on the 4th of July and I'm interviewing this week with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Dept. I took my CHL class last Nov but never got around to sending in my application because I needed to get the date's of my arrest record but come to findout that since they were only for unpaid traffic ticket's and I was 'detained' but not arrested so I actually had nothing to worry about  . So my application, with updated finger print's, will be sent in shortly.

Anywho I'm up late just surfing and said "hey I wonder if there is a texas chl forum and bingo!! I am looking to purchase thru Academy, with my employee discount, a Taurus PT 24/7 .45, because it fit's like a glove, and a Taurus Model 145BP MILLENNIUM PRO .45 for my CC. I'm very happy that I found this forum as I'm sure I will learn alot and be able to keep up with our state's rule's/reg's change's as they take place.

Thank's,
Gregg
