TexasCHLforum Day at PSC?

#1

Post by Charles L. Cotton »

Onerifle made a suggestion I really like; a TexasCHLforum Day at PSC. PSC Shooting Club, Inc. is a private gun club in Friendswood, Texas about 25 miles south of downtown Houston. I have spoken to a couple of the PSC Board members and I think we may be able to get approval.

We are in the very early stages of planning, so early in fact I'm not sure what we're going to do! However, we would use all six pistol bays, the IDPA building and the PSC office/classroom. Hopefully, this would be a two-day event for the whole family, with open IDPA style shooting, NRA Instructors for the kids and other new shooters, a CHL class on Saturday, barbeque, perhaps even daycare for the kids (that one may be a little tough to pull off, but I'll try.)

This is a very optimistic undertaking, but what do you think folks? Is there enough interest to pursue this further?

Regards,
Chas.

Sounds great!! The hardest problem will be deciding the date I think.

I'll be there if possible.

I can't be there the first weekend in Oct.

Depending on the date, I'd bring the family. Sounds like a LOT of fun!

Sounds good to me, just not during the heat of the summer.

Charles,

I would be pleased to attend, if I am free to do so on the day y'all choose.

This is a terrific idea. I may even get my wife to make this one.

Hint, hint, we are both on vacation the last week of April. :D

Hey SRVA:

If this becomes a reality, maybe we can carpool down to save on some of this rediculous priced gas.

Count the Stevie-D's in...

Pick a weekend here soon, while its cool...

My Dad was a big time shooter out at PSC and I live about 15-20 minutes from there to boot...

My wife could be coerced into doing a baby-sitting/daycare type deal if she had one or two additional pairs of eyes as well...

While we manly men go and do the things we do-do...(thats humor)

BTW, Is Matt F. still running around over there (at PSC)???

Later,
Steve

In answer to steve_d_64

Shooting especially to get a CHL is NOT just a manly thing! I think it would be best if you baby sat the kids and let your wife take the CHL class or come practice shooting if she has already taken the CHL class! That would be truly manly.

She already has her CHL...She's had it for almost 4 years...

I think thats a good thing...And she can certainly shoot anytime she wants too...

My "manly" comment was intended to amuse and maybe instigate a response...

Sometimes I tend to push back the envelope a bit just to be a bit humorous...

I would say that anyone here that does go to this get together, and brings their wife or significant other...I would offer up the idea to not send a single round downrange, and let the other shoot all day...I can certainly do that, no problem at all...
