I don't want to steal business from Texas City, but you might want to consider the Galveston Rifle and Pistol Club. It's about 20 minutes closer to the ferry landing than Texas City, costs $60 a year, and you can shoot during daylight hours every day. The facilities are pretty bare-bones.
I guess I should add that I am a director of the club.

Being 6'4" from Glasgow, spent alot of time back home being called big yin, basically translated to big one. when I first went online the screen name bigyin was already taken so i just added another g and stuck with it ever since.
It is a cliche that most cliches are true, but then like most cliches, that cliche is untrue.

Maybe Billy Connolly beat you to it.biggyin wrote:Being 6'4" from Glasgow, spent alot of time back home being called big yin, basically translated to big one. when I first went online the screen name bigyin was already taken so i just added another g and stuck with it ever since.
My clan left Scotland before 1729, and landed in America before 1750. Doesn't stop me from having a taste of The Macallan now and then, though.

Works for me!Lochinvar wrote:I married a girl that lived East of me and that was dating another guy. Close enough for government work.
"Hi, we're from the Government, and we're here to help you!"
Of course, that's literally true in my family... the hubby and I both work for the great State of Texas, and our son is a Fed.....

All guns have at least two safeties. One's digital, one's cognitive. In other words - keep the digit off the trigger until ready to fire, and THINK. Some guns also have mechanical safeties on top of those. But if the first two don't work, the mechanical ones aren't guaranteed. - me

I resemble that remark. Welcomebiggyin wrote:Being 6'4" from Glasgow, spent alot of time back home being called big yin, basically translated to big one.

My user name is actually the first three syllables of the last name of a very good friend of mine.
He's gravely ill and this is my small way of honoring his name.

I bought a 1968 Impala SS Convertable when i was 14 (I had been saving since I was six). It was the most beatiful... rusted ugly hunk of crap I had ever layed my eyes on. BTW I did fix it up and still drive it occasionaly.

It's a East Texas thang. Plus the year I graduated.
Before God I swear this creed: my pistol and myself are defenders of my country, we are the masters of our enemy, we are the saviors of my life. So be it, until there is no enemy, but peace. Amen.

I used to go caving a lot.
I tend to think like a caveman...simple, straigt-forward,black and white...not always a good quality but it's what I am.
I like the character from the comic strip BC. Seems to be the most underated character but always seems to come out on top.
