I was just thinking (I know, I try to do as little of that as possible...),
you know, there are an whole slew of NRA members, and a BUNCH just joined up for life, least a dozen or two.
so, that's like $300 a person.
wonder how much it costs to join the Brady Bunch. and how many lunatics joined their side this week...

we all were willing to cough up $300 to keep our rights, what're they willing to do to take'em away.

just pondering...

Ya know, I feel a little less guilty about the promotion now that I've thought about it for a day. I extended my membership three years last November; you're a three-peat; and another renewed for five last year. I'm sure we aren't alone in having multiple years already paid on our memberships.

It's not about being dues-free forever. It's about the demonstration of support in committing to a worthy cause. The timing is pretty great for us, because Texas early voting for the March primary starts Monday...and the week before we got to help the NRA grow the ranks of those who committed for life to support our Second Amendment.

I'll continue to contribute separately to the NRA-ILA and the NRA Foundation. But I'll wear my Lifer lapel pin proudly, and will probably even buy some other Lifer items from the NRA Store (like a polo shirt to wear if I can help Marc or Charles teach some of their NRA pistol courses ;-) ).

I've mentioned this before, but another reminder about the NRA Foundation. It is a 501(c)(3) entity, and all contributions to it are tax-deductible. Can you tell I've started working on my 2007 taxes?

Many companies have matching programs for eligible non-profits. In my case, I contribute to a company Political Action Committee (PAC), and I can specify a dollar-for-dollar match to any qualified 501(c). I chose the NRA Foundation, and received my nice, annual, thank-you letter on February 4. It's painless for me, and the NRA Foundation gets several times what I would normally pay for my NRA annual membership.

We all win with this promotion. Or maybe I should say "won," because it's 5:30 in Virginia, and the deal may be over now.

But this morning in the shower, I was smiling because I was finally an NRA Life Member. I shoulda done it years ago. In hindsight, it would have been worth the $750. To know I got a deal, though, and to know that I will still contribute separately to the RKBA, well, that's doubly sweet.

Come on guys! I've only got three so far due to a late start.

Any fence-sitters still struggling over the decision?

Time's getting short. PM me.

Let's get this done! You'll never regret it!

I look at it this way, I just saved $700 that I can spend in other ways supporting the 2nd Amd.
either with ammo, going to the range, or with NRA donations, or spending some time sending emails/letters, that kind of stuff.
they'll get their money, just in different ways.
