Re: ammo on sale
I'm paying $21.88 for .40S&W in WWB at Wal-Mart in Marshall. That's cheaper than most of the stuff I'm seeing online.

Re: ammo on sale
Got my Bass Pro flyer today and it says ALL ammo is 10% off. Not a lot, but it helps!!

Re: ammo on sale
Alright, so I went in to "Panic buy" some .45 and .40 ammo as everywhere I look it seems to be doubling in price in just a few short weeks time!! Tonight at the Wal-Mart at Rufe Snow and 820 I found the following prices.
WWB .45 100rnd-----$28.98
Rem. MegaPack .45 250rnd-----(sold out) but normally $72.88
Rem. JHP .45 100rnd------$32.88
WWB .40 100rnd-----$21.88
Rem. MegaPack .40 250rnd-----$59.88
Rem. FMJ 38spcl+p 100rnd----$25.88
Blazer Brass .45 50rnd----$14.88 (this is almost double what it was just before Christmas )
Rem. .45 50rnd----$16.88
7.62x39 WWB 40rnd "Bonus Pack"-----$24.47
Winchester 12ga 2 3/4 15pk 00Buckshot-----$7.22
Wincehster 12ga 2 3/4 15pk 1oz. Slug-----$7.87
I dont have a 9mm so I didnt really look. The only reason I put the 7.62x39 is because I am contemplating the idea of adding an AK to my battle pack in the next few weeks. They didnt have any "bonus pack" .223 boxes, but most of their .223 was sold out to say the least.

Re: ammo on sale
$30 So, $190 + $30 for $220.00. The best gun show price was $5 a box of 20. Which is $250 a case, plus tax.OverEasy wrote:lrb111,

But these are steel cased cartridges. I'm going to gradually buy brass case lots for some limited reloading.

Re: ammo on sale
GACK!!!!
Just visited my local Garland WalMart @ 190. Cashier told me Winchester just raised prices again yesterday.
Sure enough, WWB 115gr 9mm fmj, $18.42/100, and 165gr 40S&W fmj $26.88/100!
Gotta start rolling my own. (Or dry firing and telling "BANG"!)

Re: ammo on sale
I found a place online today called Wideners Reloading and Shooting Supply http://www.wideners.com/index.cfm they have some pretty good ammo prices.
I wish this madness would end, ammo prices are insane now. I remember when I could buy 1000 rounds of Wolf 7.62x39 for 60 dollars, now it costs over $200.00! (thats when I can find it, last two trips to Cabelas & CTD they were wiped out)
I've heard there is going to be another 9% increase on ammo in March, have any of you heard this?

I bought a 100-round box of Winchester USA (the white box) 165 gr. FMJ .40 S&W earlier this week for $21.88 at Wal-Mart in Hobbs, NM.
That's what I usually use for practice ammo.
It seems accurate, reliable, and about as economical as anything commercially available. You can find it anywhere and buying it at Wal-Mart makes it the most affordable practice ammo I've come across (except maybe some commercial reloads I used to get at Targetmaster in Garland when I lived in the Dallas area).
That's much cheaper than the current prices at http://www.midwayusa.com
I'm looking for a good online deal on Federal Hydra-Shok 155 gr. .40 S&W. That's my carry load and no one in Hobbs stocks it. I've been meaning to get to Lubbock to look around, but I've been saying that for months. So if anyone knows a place it Lubbuck or Odessa or Midland with good deals on Hydra-Shok, let me know. But I expect to have to order online and am wondering who's got the best prices.
Midway has it for $22.99 for a box of 20.

I'm pretty sure I can get it cheaper than that at a gunshop, if I could find a gunshop that carried it around here.
Once upon a time, I got a slammin' deal on a couple cases (500 rounds per case, discounted when bought by the case and further discounted on a Christmas sale or some such) from Midway. That's the only time I ever bought ammo online and the reason I'm using them as an example - only place I know. But I don't see any bulk deals on my ammo there now.

Here it is for $25.95 per box of 50. And here it is for $254.95 for 500 rounds. Texas-based (near Brenham) Ammunition to Go!mgood wrote:Yep.KC5AV wrote:I'm paying $21.88 for .40S&W in WWB at Wal-Mart in Marshall. That's cheaper than most of the stuff I'm seeing online.
