Hah, that's at least legible! The one at West Oaks is portrait (not landscape) and I really couldn't read it...they had it at the box office and over the entrance. I'll try to take a picture of it next time I am over there though...

I went by the West Oaks drafthouse in west Houston and it, too, is gone... Guess they saw the light after good CHLers sent emails to them!

Success so sweet.

I think I'm gonna write them a nice little letter

Everyone who sent an email should send another thanking them for doing the right thing.

If you do, make sure your subject line and opening statement clearly identify your message as a thank you note.

Else they may think, "we fixed the problem and these nuts are still burying us with emails?"

As with letters to politicians, the opening should make your position unmistakeably clear, because sometimes they don't read further.

concur.
I just dropped a nice note of thanks to: "'John@drafthouse.com'; 'Lauren@drafthouse.com'; 'owner@drafthouse.com'"

I recommend we ALL do the same.

Here is what I sent:
Dear Alamo Drafthouse Management and Leadership team,

I would like to take the time to personally thank you for reversing your decision on barring Texas Concealed Handgun License owners from legally carrying in your establishments. I’ve been following this issue through an online statewide social circle, and was elated to learn that you have changed your position.

I won’t bore you with the facts about Texas CHL holders, their training, FBI background checks, etc. Just know that your decision has secured my patronage as a long standing AD customer, especially now that AMC has determined that they will now ban Texas CHL holders from protecting themselves and their families while at their establishment.

Thanks again, and see you at the movies!
