When there is a shortage of cheap apartments they raise the rent. Mid level apartments see that they are now even with cheaper apartments so they raise the rent, high end apartments do the same, people realize with this high a rent, they should own, so they try to buy a starter home, but blue states have restrictive laws on new construction, it takes years to get a new home started with subdivision, environmental studies, traffic studies, so new homes are not immediately available so used home prices rise and so on. I read most people made more on the increase in value of their homes than they did by working.

And who does this hurt the most, the poor, kids right out of high school and college. Yep lefties who blame Trump.
