we developed one back a few years ago. its freaky scary crapppp. and as far as detection, we are not were we used to be. no more pingers , no more dragon killer net.
if i was CIC, we would have subs out and about seeking and disturbing.
subs only get found when they want to . I have lots of picures from submarines that we were tracking , or thought we were. where they surfaced long enough to snap a picture of the bottom of our helicopter, only to disappear without us ever knowing they were there. weeks later get called to CO office to have a laugh as he tossed us the pictures, asking us what went wrong
or having a practice torpedo pop up beside the ship out of no where.
