I don't know Malaysian security requirements, but in US carriers, a pilot is not allowed to leave the flight deck until a flight attendant (or other crew) comes in to watch the door. Then when that pilot returns, the flight attendant verifies who it is and lets them in. The other pilot is not allowed to leave his seat to let someone in.

It’s been five years.

A summary.
All I see is a general landing page, with no airline story on it.

Top Malaysian leaders suspect murder /suicide by pilot.

One time I worked out that you were more likely to die at the hands of a suicidal pilot than a mass shooter.

PERTH, Australia (AP) — Former Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott has said the “top levels” of the Malaysian
government long suspected that the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 almost six years ago was a mass
murder-suicide by the pilot.

Abbott was prime minister when the plane carrying 239 people vanished on March 8, 2014, while flying from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing.

“My very clear understanding, from the very top levels of the Malaysian government, is that from very, very early on, they thought it was
murder-suicide by the pilot,” said Abbott, who was Australia’s prime minster from 2013 to 2015.

MH370 sleuths say they’ve found the crash site of the doomed aircraft in Indian Ocean and call for search to resume

The headline overstates it a bit, the "sleuths" don't say they've found it, they think it's the most probably place and want it searched again.

I have to wonder if there is going to be anything left to find. If it has not been corroded by the water yet, it is likely covered in silt.

I think there will be "something." They still find WWII planes in the Pacific waters. Not in great shape, but they are recognizable. I think it will be possible that the data on the flight data recorders can be recovered, if they can find them.

At the altitude this plane fell from, I would think it would have disintegrated into a whole lot of tiny pieces. Maybe not. It would be nice to have a few answers about what actually brought it down.

Regardless, the FDR and CVR would have survived, altho batteries dead by now.
