Just in time to distract from the Atlantic story falling apart. Funny that Fauci immediately came out and backed up Trump on this one. Gonna be hated by the left after they held him on a pedestal for the last 6 months....

U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos Delivers on Promise to Protect Free Inquiry and Religious Liberty (Dept of Ed press release)

Announces final rule to:
First, to implement Executive Order 13864, Improving Free Inquiry, Transparency, and Accountability at Colleges and Universities, public colleges and universities must comply with the First Amendment as a requirement to receive Department grants. Private institutions of higher education must comply with their own stated institutional policies regarding freedom of speech, including academic freedom, as a requirement of Department grants.

...

Second, the rule clarifies how an institution may demonstrate that it is controlled by a religious organization for purposes of Title IX. Federal law provides that Title IX “shall not apply” to educational institutions that are “controlled by a religious organization,” to the extent that application of Title IX would not be consistent with the religious tenets of such organization.

...

Third, the rule ensures equal treatment of religious student organizations at public colleges and universities. As a requirement of the Department’s grants, public colleges and universities must not deny to a religious student group any of the rights, benefits, or privileges that other student groups enjoy.

...

Fourth, the rule revises regulations governing some discretionary grant programs under Titles III and V of the Higher Education Act of 1964, as amended, to better align with the First Amendment and other federal laws. Current regulations could prohibit a school from using such a grant for even secular activities or services such as teaching a course about world religions.

...
This is in response to the Left's/higher ed's attempts to turn freedom of speech and freedom of religion into 'only approved speech' and 'no Christianity.' (The Left would suppress Muslims later, after the Christians and Jews are squelched. Likewise should radical Muslims win control, the Left would find themselves...haram.)

To make this rule stick, Trump has to win in November.

I did not know they had any credibility left at all to be on the line.

Isn't destruction of evidence a felony? When do these people go to jail?

Nominated again for the Nobel Peace Prize. This time for Kosovo and Serbia.

I think there is only one Peace Prize. But Two nominations.

Maybe a third Nomination with the other peace deal announced today.

Guy on radio said that Trump owes a lot to Obama for this, as Obama did such a bad job in the Middle East by supporting Iran that all the other guys don’t think Israel is so bad now. An enemy of my enemy becomes my friend sort of thing.

Muslim-majority Chad is also making nice with the Israelis. Chad is not a big player in the Islamic world, but it means that they do not fear being ostracized by the big guys like Saudi Arabia.

The Imam of the Grand Mosque of Mecca is making nice noises about non-muslims, and citing times when the prophet had good interactions with Jews. That's pretty significant. KSA (which has already agreed to let El Al overfly Saudi territory) is getting ready to jump on the Middle Eastern Trump Train. (Actually I suspect they agreed a long time ago with Trump to recognize Israel but wanted him to line up the other ducks first).

When this is done Trump should get a Nobel Peace Prize with a couple silver Oak Leaf Clusters on it. :)

WWE legend Mick Foley feels Trump is bad and that history will not be kind to Trump supporters. He feels our very Democratic system is at risk.

How can disagree and agree with him so much.

Sorry duplicate post. Can't Delete so:

Trump had some big events over the weekend. Vegas without masks. Bunch of Boat parades. A big car parade in Miami with a big Latino turnout. Apparently wasn't covered at all by the mainstream media.

Going to see damage from wildfires in Oregon. Near as I can tell there is a lot of censorship about arsonists starting the fires on Facebook.

I'm hoping for a big landslide victory for Trump. Seems like there is a lot of talk if Trump wins there is going to be a coup.
