Even if they get into my garage there’s a couple more lines of defense. In reality nothing is burglar proof and anything can be defeated with the correct knowledge. I found this video interesting:
What are the options if someone stole my garage door remote?

Re: What are the options if someone stole my garage door remote?
I have a suggestion.....
1. Delete all the codes from the garage door operator again.
2. Confirm that none of the remotes will work.
3. Re-Learn only 1 remote.... not all.
4. Try to use one of the other remotes.
My door operator has the Green learn button, so, not the same as the OP.
However..... when I add my car (homelink) or a fob (that I use on my motorcycle), I usually have to train the fob/homelink to an existing remote. Once the fob/homelink is "trained" I do not need to add it to the operator/learn button because it's using the same freq as the already-learned remote that was the source of training for the fob...
So.... If your stolen remote was "trained" by the same source as your other remotes, then deleting and re-learning the old remotes will also add back the stolen one.
You should verify that adding one back doesn't add back the others.
Hopefully that's clear?
If adding one back adds all of them back, you would need to change the DIP switches inside the operator, find a remote with DIP switches that you can set to match, have the operator learn it, then use that remote to re-train all the other remotes.

Re: What are the options if someone stole my garage door remote?
I assume the "rolling code function" prevents that. I have two other remotes and neither worked after the code removal. I programmed one and checked it for operation. Then I retried the second remote again and it didn't work. I then programmed it. My brother has a third remote for my garage and is coming over later to get it programmed, so I will try it before programming it.RoyGBiv wrote: ↑Thu Jul 09, 2020 12:40 pm I have a suggestion.....

^^^ Excellent!
My Green button operator is older technology.
Good news that you had an easier fix than I would have.

In my younger days I probably would just unscrew the light bulb on my opener after dark and sit inside until someone to open the garage door and point a green laser that may be attached to a metallic lead projector. A smart criminal makes for a tough opponent, fortunately most aren’t smart. On one of the gun forums they mentioned a jewelry store with alarms on wireless and land line that was defeated and the store cleaned out without an alarm going off. That’s not your typical criminal but anything can be defeated so I do what I can and have insurance for the rest.puma guy wrote: ↑Thu Jul 09, 2020 1:18 pmIn my younger days I probably would just unscrew the light bulb on my opener after dark and sit inside until someone to open the garage door and point a green laser that may be attached to a metallic lead projector. Re: What are the options if someone stole my garage door remote?
My brother was VP and General manager of a local camera store chain with 5 stores. Even with alarms, bars, and shatter proof glass they would be hit. Their alarms had audio recording and one incident recorded a truck driven backwards truck crashing through the building, bars and glass. There was one voice that said "let's get it" and two and a half minutes of rustling sounds before the truck drove away loaded with thousands of dollars of high end cameras and lenses. They only went for Leica, Leitz, Hasselblad and Nikon equipment. Even the less intelligent slugs can use brute force to defeat any obstacles in their way. They were gone before the alarm company and police could even start to respond. When we are out of town I put a screw driver in the rails to keep the garage door from opening.mrvmax wrote: ↑Thu Jul 09, 2020 1:55 pmA smart criminal makes for a tough opponent, fortunately most aren’t smart. Re: What are the options if someone stole my garage door remote?
I had a Ford van at a Ford dealer in central Florida for service, when I picked up the van my 2 meter ham radio as well as a garage door opener was stolen. Called the sheriff to report the theft, deputy showed up at the dealer and took a report. The dealer could have cared less. Wrote the owner a letter - no response. Wiped the garage door openers clean.

I'm not going to leave this info on here very long as I would perfer not to educate criminals on how to beat the system. Please don't quote it for that reason either.
If you need basic instructions on how to make it so they only work with a key on let me know.n5wmk wrote: ↑Thu Jul 09, 2020 10:42 amWhat if you can't take the garage door remote out of the vehicle? My 2012 Toyota Tacoma and my wife's 2017 Ford Explorer both have Homelink garage door openers built in.
Mine is on the rear view mirror, hers is built into the visor. On either one, the button is active without the ignition turned on. In other words, if the vehicle is parked outside and someone breaks into the vehicle, they can open the garage door right then, gaining access to the garage and possibly our house. I wish that the manufacturers would make it so the buttons aren't active unless the ignition is on.
We always lock the door between the kitchen and the garage at night. And I've installed WiFi garage door openers/annunciators on both doors. I get a text message every time one of the doors is opened and closed, and I can close them from anywhere that my phone has internet service.

Re: What are the options if someone stole my garage door remote?
I keep my garage door opener clipped to my visor, but I get around having my vehicle broken into and having the opener stolen and used to burgle my garage by actually parking both of our vehicles INSIDE the garage at night. Novel idea, I know.....but it really works!
