Police chief Acevedo promised “complete transparency”’ after the incident, then HPD won’t release its own investigation to the public, and city tries block access by victim’s lawyers. He is a liar.

Acevedo is a major leftist and has no business being in Texas anywhere.

I'll simply agree with you because how I really feel about the guy isn't for polite company. He was horrible in Austin, and worse in Houston.

Conviction for $10 crack buy, based on casework of disgraced ex-HPD cop Goines, is overturned
A 35-year-old woman who pleaded guilty to drug dealing after a Houston police officer said he paid her $10
to buy a rock of crack cocaine has had her conviction overturned. Court records show that in March 2017,
Goines approached Scott -- a homeless woman with a history of mental illness and a lengthy record of petty
crimes -- and asked her to help him buy $10 of crack cocaine.

The recent court action marks the latest time local judges have reversed convictions won on the testimony
of former officer Gerald Goines, the veteran Houston Police Department narcotics officer now facing
charges after investigators accused him of lying to obtain a warrant used in a deadly drug raid last year.
This is pathetic! This sounds like a blatant case of entrapment. After the first attempt failed she went to a second location
to buy the crack. All she wanted in return was for Goines to buy her a beer. I am really surprised that a DA would file
charges on something like this. They must not had much real crime happening in 2017.

Legal experts applaud Harris County District Attorney for seeking to overturn cases tied to former HPD officer

Harris District Attorney Kim Ogg recommended Thursday 91 cases tied to former Houston Police Department officer Gerald Goines be dismissed.

“No conviction should stand based on false testimony,” Ogg said.

The testimony came from Goines, who solely swore, under oath, the existence of probable cause to magistrate judges.
In turn, those judges signed warrants based on Goines’ testimony, Ogg said.

Oh its always interesting when events get intertwined together. George Floyd conviction was a case being reviewed by prosecutors as it was a Goines case.

That was only one of Floyd's nine covictions, and not one of the two where his use of a firearm was involved: https://www.texaschlforum.com/viewtopic ... 3#p1286213. But yet it rates as headline news for KPRC.
Ogg said that she doesn’t know if that relief can be posthumously given to his family, but she will see what she can do.
She could choose not to run for DA again, for one thing. ;-) But that 2004 conviction was only a 10-month sentence for delivery of a controlled substance. Will posthumous relief for that mean much to the family when Floyd had 8 other Harris County convictions and had just served 5 years for a 1st degree felony armed home invasion before deciding to move to Minnesota?

Ogg: Case involving George Floyd was among Goines cases being reviewed by prosecutors
A 16-year-old drug case involving George Floyd was among the hundreds of cases connected to ex-Houston police
Officer Gerald Goines that are being reviewed by prosecutors, according to Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg.

Speaking to Khambrel Marshall during an interview that will air on Sunday’s edition of Houston Newsmakers, Ogg
said that Floyd, a Houston native who died while being detained by police in Minnesota on Memorial Day, was
convicted by Goines as part of a single-witness drug case in 2004.

State lawmakers hold a press conference at the home of the Tuttle's. The audit is a "joke". Apparently the audit was released the day before the anticipated press conference. Naturally.

No real information has been released. Who shot who? Were all the police officer wounds "friendly fire"? Was the guns the Tuttle's owned ever fired?
How much of the information we were told at the beginning, how much of it was bogus?

Do we need riots and marches to get any information?

“This investigation is peeling back layers of a narcotics-enforcement system gone array,” Ogg said.
The author, Tulsi Kamath, needs to go back to school. Hard to believe she was part of Pulitzer finalist team. I'll bet she can't even spell Pulitzer. Calling LDB415- Hey! LDB, they need a real editor at Channel 2, the one they have has gone awry. :biggrinjester:

On a serious note; I'm still hopeful that the two people who instigated this retaliatory raid and murder of this couple are exposed and appropriate punishment is brought to bear. Hint: Goines didn't dream this up out of the blue.
