Makes me wonder how the heck he got there. That would be one heck of a long jog. Maybe he was an aspiring Olympic long distance runner.philip964 wrote: ↑Fri May 08, 2020 6:58 pm03Lightningrocks wrote: ↑Fri May 08, 2020 6:12 pm The article I saw said Arbery was a short jog from his neighborhood.
Could be typical anti gun slant from leftist media but that is what they said. I would like to know the definition of "short jog".Mr. Arbery was killed in Satilla Shores, a quiet middle-class enclave about 15 minutes from downtown Brunswick and a short jog from Mr. Arbery’s neighborhood.

Maps says 15 min by car because it a highway. Probably 60 mph speed limit. It’s in no way a short jog.

I too am troubled by it. If people are allowed to extract vigilante justice, there will be innocent dead people all over the place. Thanks for posting the information on where he lived. Two miles is easily in jogging distance.AndyC wrote: ↑Fri May 08, 2020 7:37 pm "Arbery lived with his mother about 2 miles from where he was killed."

I have attached the bridge he would be jogging across that was 2 miles (or 8 miles) from his mom's. This would be just a small part of his jog.03Lightningrocks wrote: ↑Fri May 08, 2020 7:25 pmMakes me wonder how the heck he got there. That would be one heck of a long jog. I'm going to look at the video. A talk radio guy said that he was not shot struggling with the gun but had let go and was away from the man with the rifle when he was shot. That of course would be murder. If the jogger had disengaged and was backing away from the man with the rifle and he was shot that is a whole different thing. I'm still puzzled by the son being arrested for just being there. And why would the camera man need to be investigated?
Was the jogger employed? Or had he been laid off due to the Coronavirus?

Re: GA: "Jogger" chased and murdered
Attached is a map from the street where the shooter lived to the Center of Brunswick where the mom lived it shows 8.7 miles. I don't know where in the town she lived but most probably it was North of the center of downtown, as the suburbs of the town are North off the map, but we dont know. Its still a long ways from the closes spot in town to the street where the shooter lived.
I said I would be dangerous when you taught me this attachment thing.
Yall can look this all up on google maps like I have done. Supposedly the moms address is a public record somewhere.

Is that shaggy haired sissy still around? I figured he would have killed himself with drugs by now. Guess I can just keep on hoping.philip964 wrote: ↑Sat May 09, 2020 4:10 pm https://apple.news/At9SojrsfSeeNYd1UJalbjQ

Re: GA: "Jogger" chased and murdered
Wow! The stills from the video of the man scoping out the house are obviously Ahmuad Arbery. Knowing that the distance from where Amuad lives to this location is far beyond a normal distance for "jogging" and now the video stills of him scoping out the construction sight, it sure looks like he was not simply "jogging" through the neighbor. Watching the video of the shooting, he does lunge at the guy with the shotgun, causing himself to be shot. My issue with all this from the start was these two chasing this Arbery character down rather than letting the cops handle it. If Georgia law states that a citizen can attempt an arrest if they suspect a person has committed a felony, these two Rednecks are legally good to go. Even if I disagree with what they did as a smart move. To be honest, I am beginning to get a bit bothered by the MSM trying to make this Arbery character into some kind of poor innocent jogger when it is pretty darn obvious from the video of him he was up to no good. It causes me to think that if the two rednecks were actually in the wrong, there would be no reason to make it look as if Arbery was simply jogging when he obviously wasn't just jogging. That tells me the MSM is trying to avoid admitting the two rednecks were within their legal rights of self defense according to GA. law.philip964 wrote: ↑Sun May 10, 2020 12:42 am https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/articl ... lling.html

Nothing material is worth taking ones life, especially if it ain’t mine. Defending your self/family against a life threat is something else. But material junk, nope. That is just me, I don’t care how right or justified it may be.

Re: GA: "Jogger" chased and murdered
I agree 100% but that is not the issue here. Even though you and I feel this way, it does not make it illegal for others to feel property is worth taking a life if they are within the law when they do it. A few years back a young man was shot and killed in the middle of the night here in Plano while breaking into the shooters car.I was in my back yard letting the dog out and heard the shots. There was no arrest and hardly any media notice of it because it was a legal shooting. Would I shoot a guy breaking into my car? Heck no! I would call the cops and let my insurance give me some of my money back. But again, it does not make the guy,who chooses to shoot, a criminal. I don't think the two rednecks went after him to shoot him. I think they were trying to detain the guy and the guy put up a fight. But once again, if GA law says it is OK to pursue a suspected felon, then regardless of my moral issue with it, it is still a legitimate self defense claim.

Yup, good point and I agree. I just wish that more folks would feel same as you and I.03Lightningrocks wrote: ↑Sun May 10, 2020 8:40 amI agree 100% but that is not the issue here. Re: GA: "Jogger" chased and murdered
When I was building my house, it was common to have folks "checking it out". Many times, I would find people from the neighborhood being nosy about the new construction or "looky loos" we call them. Heck, I've done the same in developments when I was looking to build. Is it right? No, but although it's a misdemeanor trespass, it's way common enough. I didn't shoot a single person, chase them with a gun, or anything like that. I made new friends.03Lightningrocks wrote: ↑Sun May 10, 2020 8:24 amWow! Re: GA: "Jogger" chased and murdered
I'm familiar with Brunswick. The wife's family is from there and has people in the law there... There's a couple of very insightful posts about the area. First, you're not "jogging" on Route 17 unless you have a death wish. Second, the 17 bridge is mammoth and is "no pedestrian". If the police or sheriff's departments see you on it, they'll start with you're either broken down or a jumper.philip964 wrote: ↑Fri May 08, 2020 9:05 pm Attached is a map from the street where the shooter lived to the Center of Brunswick where the mom lived it shows 8.7 miles. This entire situation is bad. Very poor optics and questionable circumstances. Monday morning QB'ing, I expect the McMichael's now wish they'd hung back to observe and allow the police or sheriff to handle the situation. With the previous issues of theft, I expect there was some emotion involved.
Also, no matter the actual facts, now that the professional race hustlers are involved, this will be and remain a circus.
