I use a goldenrod- not sure what humidity level it holds but when I moved to central Tx I had to leave my safe in a barn/shop on the in-laws farm... just a plain goldenrod for 8 years and not a hint of rust, even on blued guns. And there was a 4 yr period that I didn't open it so no periodic wipe down on the delicate finishes.
If I didn't have power available, the little eva dry units look like they would do the trick.
What do you use to monitor safe humidity?

I just got this in and put the batteries in. Thanks for the heads up on this.

Finally getting some spare time to catch-up on the forum. I hope the hygrometer is working out well for you. I've been pleased with mine. Had to replace lithium batteries after about 6 months.

Yes, I am happy with the hydrometer. It's nice knowing what is going on inside without opening the door. I did put an extra 900 gram desiccant inside to go with the 450 gram I had from the baby safe and Browning's plug in rod. I hold 46-47% humidity and 3 degrees over room temperature. The picture is from when I first plugged it in. Temperature is 71 and change inside. Even with the vent half way closed, the AC keeps that room colder than the rest of the house. It might have to do with the tin ceiling.
