CZ P-01
Hey everyone!
Just wondering if anyone has a CZ P-01 and if they like it? Do you carry it? I’m looking into getting one as my first DA/SA. Currently I have a Sig P320 compact for carry. Looking to practice DA/SA and really get it down and I heard the CZ P01 is a great handgun. Anyone have personal experience?

Re: CZ P-01
I have had a P-01 for almost 15 years. I have enjoyed shooting it in recreation and competition. I like the decocking feature for a non striker fired gun. The trigger is quite smooth and mags both factory and after market drop easily. One of the nicest things is it carries easily even compared to my S&W M&P in 9mm. I carry the P-01 both IWB and OWB. I have XL hands and the grip fits quite nicely. My son may "borrow it permanently" when he turns 21 as he shoots it quite well. The finish has held up very well with very little apparent wear even with sweaty weekly carry for most of 12 years.
Have only had one problem. At about 30,000 rounds the slide release lever broke. Can't remember the cost but was a quick replacement.

Get it, you will not regret it.
But a warning, CZs are very addictive. If you buy this one it won't be your last.

As Springerfan mentions, get it. It won't be your last though. They are highly addictive.
Re: CZ P-01
Is this model the same as the P-07 that you can’t dry fire too much otherwise you will end up with a broken spring or something like that? Also is it prone to light primer strikes like the P-07 sometimes is?

Re: CZ P-01
Not even close. The P-07 is a striker fired polymer frame, the P-01 is an alloy frame DA/SA with decocker.
I've owned a P-01 for many years, and really like it. The other replies are correct... it carries easily, shoots great, and you'll want more than one. I've somehow resisted. For now.

Re: CZ P-01
Shoot! The only ones I can find are the CZ P-01 omega’s, and they are on gunbroker. Maybe in next few months I can find one for sale in the Texas area or maybe trade my sig at a store and some cash for one.
Re: CZ P-01
Actually the the P-07 is not striker fired it is double action single action and it has a de-cocker as well. It is polymer framed you are correct there.
Re: CZ P-01
I have a CZ P01 that has been to Cajun Gun Works. I have no ideal what it was like before CGW, but I do know it is the greatest DA/SA pistol I have ever owned and I have had several.
I don’t know where you are located, but if you are close to Shoot Smart in Grand Prarie you are more than welcome to test drive mine. It is not for sale though.

Re: CZ P-01
CZ's are the most accurate handguns I own.
The P-01 compact is very close in size and capacity to G19, although obviously the all metal construction is heavier and finding holsters is not as easy as it is for Glock. There are really nice, easily interchangeable grip sets out there and while the DA/SA is very smooth, getting used to a manual of arms that includes the decocker when drawing / reholstering during tactical training sessions is a bit of a challenge.

Re: CZ P-01
If I could only keep one handgun, it would be a CZ compact of some sort.
Best description i can think of for the P-01 is a slightly heavier G19 with a good trigger.
Outstanding guns.

SP-01 Tactical, send it to cajun, never get rid of it!
Only thing I dislike about CZ in general, is the very short (height) slide. My giant fingers have difficulty grabbing just the slide occasionally, if you aren’t 6’4” 230 you probably won’t have that issue haha. Having that short slide creates a shorter bore axis though.
