5 Officers Shot In Houston - Pray
Re: 5 Officers Shot In Houston - Pray

Grits for breakfast blog asks 11 questions about the raid.
He says the drug dealer/husband/disabled veteran came out the back door after his wife and dog had been killed, and attacked the police officers from behind.
He says this was reported by the Chronicle.
His questions was why wasn’t the back door covered.
My observation was a lot of hits from 6 bullets, did we have friendly fire? Back shots would explain the marines tactic, or friendly fire.
He also brings up, does a drug dealer just sell to anyone who comes to their door?

One of the comments from the above blog:
“I retired as a Sergeant after 25 years with the HCSO and I'm currently the president of the Houston Peace and Justice Center. I'm also on the board of the Greater Houston Coalition for Justice headed up by the civil rights hero and icon Johnny Mata. Personally, I must speak out about something that hasn't really been addressed or forgotten about in all of the information in the press and in the numerous discrepancies about this entire situation. Mr. Gamaldi, as a police officer, described fellow human beings as "Dirt Bags" and this description is shared by many police officers who deal with people who commit crimes. In this process a disabled Navy Veteran and his wife who was suffering from cancer, both of whom had no prior criminal record were dehumanized and painted with that same brush that paints anyone who comes into contact with our criminal justice system. They were never read their rights. They never had a chance to defend themselves in court. They somehow became a type of sub-human, guilty in the eyes of the law enforcement community and that definition carried over to the public. We hold those first responders in high esteem and we appreciate what they do every day and we realize they are charged to protect and serve us, but somehow the balance of life has slipped. The saddest part is everyone accepted a description of a fellow human being as a "Dirt Bag" without question.
Everything began with an anonymous 911 call, a confidential informant (C.I.) who gets paid for turning in his fellow citizens and a no-knock warrant. The no knock warrant came about during the war on drugs and it's main purpose is to prevent the destruction of evidence. This type of warrant exists for the police to be able to seize drugs before they can be flushed down the toilet and it is sometimes claimed it is for the safety of the officers. This war has had a high fatality rate from friendly fire and proven totally ineffective in stopping the availability of drugs. This drug raid went terribly wrong for everyone involved, both officers and the home owners, who were tried, convicted, and executed, without a trial and we as a society need to decide if it is more acceptable for us to flush human lives away than evidence. Is human life now reduced to the equivalence of a dirt bag because they may have committed a crime? Is it acceptable for a police official to enflame and target those who he feels doesn’t like the police? Are we ok with flushing our own humanity down the toilet along with human lives just to continue a failed war on drugs where we value evidence more that life?”

I am not and have never been a LEO. My avatar is in honor of my friend, Dallas Police Sargent Michael Smith, who was murdered along with four other officers in Dallas on 7.7.2016.

Spoke with a constable today. One of the officers who was shot in the neck is seriously wounded and it apparently affects his spinal chord.
I pray for the full recovery of these wounded officers.

Drug kingpins don't fear their disposable henchmen getting iced or put away. They fear an end to the price supports enacted by the US government that make them rich.
Cocaine is easier to make than coffee or chocolate. GOOD weed is easier to grow and process than Cilantro. There are no coffee, chocolate or cilantro cartels (there were, but economic competition following deregulation ended them). Why are we choosing to make vicious criminals rich?

Give him a week (or less) and he'll be employed by another LE agency in the area.philip964 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 07, 2019 3:05 pmApparently not the leader of the raid but the officer who got the warrant.C-dub wrote: ↑Thu Feb 07, 2019 1:34 pmHmmm, will he be the fall guy or just the first domino?philip964 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 07, 2019 1:27 pm https://www.click2houston.com/news/hous ... ed-of-duty

10 or more bullet holes in the front of that house. How did the alleged drug dealer make that many holes with a 357 mag revolver?philip964 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 07, 2019 1:27 pm https://www.click2houston.com/news/hous ... ed-of-duty

Part of the investigation needs to determine the caliber of every bullet that struck a police officer.
The left lies about everything. Truth is a liberal value, and truth is a conservative value, but it has never been a left-wing value. People on the left say whatever advances their immediate agenda. Power is their moral lodestar; therefore, truth is always subservient to it. - Dennis Prager

Re: 5 Officers Shot In Houston - Pray
Can someone explain exactly was is a confidential informant?
It seems like a bad idea to approve a search warrant based on the testimony/information of a person
whose identity and veracity is unknown.

Updated story. Seriously injured office cannot talk at the moment. Cannot complete the investigation until they can talk to that officer.
Will be presented to a grand jury. That is normal for any OIS. Officer being relieved of duty during an investigation also normal.
Reiteration that it was the correct house.

Bill a lot of times a CI (confidential informant) is usually someone trying to work off charges against them. They agree to turn on who they were getting drugs from so their charges are dismissed. That is. Ormall the story of a CI. Sometimes it could be someone who is just sick and tired of seeing bad and agrees to go undercover to make buys.
I had a CI that I worked with that started off to have his charges dismissed, but eventually just kept working because he really did have a change of heart and seen how the drugs destroyed his family and others.

The police know a bunch they are not telling us.
Hopefully the truth will eventually filter out--or at least more than we know now.
We will see if Acevedo really believes in "transparency."
