It works well for my G21.

Is this a nightstand gun or something you will carry with the light attached?

There are a ton of TLR-1s on duty handguns in departments throughout the country. Go forth and use w/ confidence.

You might avoid the newer TRL-1 HL if it's your nightstand gun, because at 800 lumens that's probably too much light for in the house use.

No further recommendations.

If you were planning on carrying in this configuration I was going to recommend a holster.

Thanks!

C-dub,

Please recommend a holster as I might get tired of continuously installing and removing...time will tell.

Thanks again!

Best? No.

Not emotionally or financially
But I am at the gun store

I like the Surefire XC-1 for CC. It is compact and many holster makers provide hipsters for them.

The TLR-1s is on my Glock 17 beside my bed.

They both work great.

Best? I don’t know it’s a matter of opinion. I’ve used Streamlight for years and for me they are the best. Reasons include : price, quality, rugged. I’ve yet to have one break. I do have an Inforce APLC which was made specifically for the Glock 19 and it’s a fantastic light as well. The strongest lights are probably going to be the surefires but for nightstand use the Streamlight will be the better choice if budget is a factor.

I’ve been carrying mine in one of the Safariland 7T holsters for over a year now. Lightweight and sturdy. The ALS system works great. I got the paddle version, but am glad it also came with the belt slide attachment because the paddle had too much of a forward cant for my liking.
