Reading the original post - it could also be taken as "she was flirting with you..." I find that just smiling at someone tends to keep things going smoothly. :tiphat:

If you get called out while CC, the chances are extremely high that the person calling you out is a fellow carrier. People that don't carry just don't notice those kinds of things even when it's blatantly obvious to people like us.

Not always. The two times that I've been called out were complete accidents and by people who didn't have LTCs.

1. I was attending a funeral. There was a lot of hugging going on. I was wearing a Kangaroo Carry and was careful to protect the gun under my left arm. The person who hugged me made solid contact with the spare magazine under my right arm. She knew that i carried and made a very public inquiry.

2. I was at a church social event. The cover shirt that I was wearing was not a long as the stretch I made to try to reach something and the whole of my pistol above my IWB was exposed. I had quickly pulled the shirt down but not quickly enough before someone asked about my gun, having gotten a very good view of it. The myth of a prohibition against church carry was the subject of the next several minutes of discussion.

I was busted at Lowes once. I must have been printing on my right hip at 4:00 IWB. Two young Ladies were checking out behind me,as I was leaving , One smiled and said I see your packing. I smiled back and said yes Ma'am and left.

As a group that promotes concealed carry, I think we might be making a mistake if we adopt a casual attitude toward printing. The passage of Open Carry increased the public awareness of encountering obviously armed individuals and this caused a flurry of 30.07 signs, all to often paired with 30.06 signs. The majority of businesses concerned about customer perception banned open carry and continued to allow concealed carry. I'm afraid that if we as a group relax our tactical and ethical standards for concealed carry, we will see an increase in 30.06 signs as businesses begin to hear complaints from their customers about visibly armed individuals. Let's not allow the anti-gun crowd to capitalize on shoddy discipline and an opportunity to create a public outcry.

Before open carry, I caught someone. Their shirt had ridden up too high at a grocery store.
I told him, “Your second amendment is showing”.
He laughed and thanked me.

Also, I’ve had my shirt exporting the grip of my 1911 one time for a full 30 minuets (I’m guessing) and nobody ever noticed. Also pre open carry

I can’t disagree with what you are saying. However, I guess I will never understand why Texans allow no gun signs to be enforceable when so many other states have decided that a business open to the public can’t just decide what the constitution means and doesn’t mean.

I don't think it is fair to say that this group promotes "concealed carry". I think we promote legal carry in general, but don't specifically promote either concealed or open carry. Certain members of this forum advocate more strongly for one vs the other, but "as a group" I think we just promote carry.

The opposite argument could also be made about the effect of folks seeing people with guns. As people see more and more folks carrying guns without causing mayhem, the fear of guns will naturally start to subside. After all, we tend to fear that which is unfamiliar to us. But I do agree that if people start to relax their ethical standards and start to do immoral or unethical things while they are carrying, that would be very bad for the public's perception of LTC holders and our rights in general.

:iagree: with Soccerdad1995. I feel that this forum promotes the legal carry of handguns. Personally, I choose to carry openly unless in a 30.07 location or in the sanctuary of my church during the worship service.

When in a 30.07 location, I cover my S&W M&P Mod 2.0, 5 inch, but take no pains to conceal.

Hi guys/gals.

This is my first post on this forum in years. I've had my CHL for over 10 yrs before becoming the now LTC.

Only thing I have to say is that after you've been carrying for awhile it becomes easier & easier to pick out who's packin heat & who's not.

I too have been carrying for years and unless someone is OCing, I never notice if they're CCing.

May be: Because I simply don't look at people all that closely except to see if they look ok or give of a "dangerous vibe".

You may even carry concealed and wear a shirt with lettering that has an arrow pointing down that says "gun, here".

This is because the only difference between a gun that legally concealed and one that is not is whether or not the gun is wholly or partially physically visible to a person in a public place, not whether it prints or not.

Do not fear printing. Printing does not have anything to do with the "concealedness" of your gun. Your gun is legally concealed if it is not intentionally wholly or partially PHYSICALLY displayed in plain view of another person in a public place. 46.035a

The only concern for discernibility during concealed carry is as it relates to stealth and how that fits into your carry philosophy.

Isn't there also something about "with intent to cause alarm..." in the latest statute?

Can you be more specific? I'm not aware of any such restrictions on carrying a handgun. The closest I can find are the laws against hoax bombs, terroristic threats, etc.
