Re: "Waiting Room" ***UPDATE***
Good afternoon y'all!
Submitted app online 05/29/18
Docs sent 05/29/18
Recvd confirmation 05/19/18
Class completed 05/26/18
Finger prints completed 05/26/18
I am AD military and had to submit additional doc's due to being an AZ resident. I looked at my checklist today and the only thing peding is background check and print pending. Both in the yellow status. 10 Working day total for everything and I am guessing I should be GTG by the end of this week. Not bad considering some of the horror story's I have heard.
***UPDATE***
The Website states that my LTC is in the mail. Less than a month overall from class to license. Pretty dang quick process.

Re: "Waiting Room"
I wonder what's taking them so long. I moved three times and had three jobs in the past 5 years. I ended up getting mine in the mail yesterday and started the process 10 days after you did. Also, my CHL-100 was 9 days away from being a year old!roy217 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 16, 2018 1:02 pm Texas DPS LTC Application 5/21/2018

Re: "Waiting Room"
Hey y'all!
I'm new here. A very young buck college student (Sic 'em Bears) who's wanted my LTC since I was 13 and they were still called CHL. I took the course about 3 months before I turned 21, and started my application on my 21st B-day, June 15th. I was advised to wait a day before uploading anything, so I gave it a few days just to be safe, uploading the LTC 100 on June 19th. June 20th, today, I went to go get my fingerprints taken. I'll keep y'all posted as I get further along in the process. Hopefully, it'll be a speedy one.
All the best to you and yours,
Cameron

Re: "Waiting Room"
The wait times these days are really something. In a good way. Hats off to the fine folks at the LTC department for having this right. My first CHL took 4 months to process after they received everything needed and at the time some were waiting longer than 6 months.

Re: "Waiting Room"
Update: with a question: The website used to show that my application had been received, but now only shows the following...
"LICENSE APPLICATION STATUS: If you have a pending License to Carry a Handgun application, please allow sufficient time for processing. If you have not already done so, please submit all of the items listed on the checklist you received. DPS will notify you by mail if further information or additional documents are required. Once the application and documents have been received by Handgun Licensing and processing has begun, a more detailed status will appear on this page."
Has anyone else had this experience? I know it takes a while for the documents to show that they have been accepted, et cetera, but this seems to me to be reverse-progress.
Best,
Cameron

Re: "Waiting Room"
Yes, my wife submitted her application and documentation all at once, got the same message as you. It took a week for the progress list to appear with only the background check and print in yellow. Everything else was green. This was last week. Still waiting for further updates. Be patient, it did the same thing for my application in April.

Re: "Waiting Room"
Thanks for the info! Looks as if you were exactly correct! All that’s left in yellow is my background check and the printing of the license. Looks like it’s time for holster and belt shopping. Anyone have any solid recommendations to conceal a Glock 19 in the Texas heat? (I usually wear khaki shorts with belt loops and a polo, and I don’t really want to have to sacrifice firepower for comfort if I don’t have to.)
Thanks all, for the information and support.
Best,
Cameron

Re: "Waiting Room"
On second thought, this might be the wrong thread for that holster/belt question, I’ll look for the right one, unless someone already knows it and would kindly direct me to it.
