Authorities launched a dragnet for a shooter who gunned down at least four people and injured several others at a Tennessee Waffle House early Sunday before a "hero" patron wrestled the weapon away, police said.

"If you see a nude guy walking around this morning call the police department," Don Aaron of the Metro Nashville Police Department told WTVF.

But...but...Waffle House doesn't ALLOW guns in their stores!

Also from what I hear he conducted this shooting whist naked, so yeah...sounds pretty disturbed to me.

Story includes the obligatory term assault rifle and pictures of the evil black tool.
And the person has Illinois license with some known history with authorities. Wonder what drugs his parents (and schools) had him on?

Also note, once the rifle was taken away from the shooter it did not harm any other people. It just laid there on the floor like any other tool dropped by the person using it.

Interesting, as I don't see any of their locations listed at Texas3006.com, and I have never seen one posted in Texas.

I've never noticed any 30.06 signs at any of the other Waffle Houses I've been too. I assumed that when ever I went in there were several others conceal carrying. There have been a few incidents where someone attempted to rob the place and they were resoundly stopped by a good guy with a gun.

Waffle House Statement: “For many years, we have had a ‘No Firearms’ policy in place in our restaurants. We continue to believe this is the best policy for the safety of our customers and associates.” Yeah because we all know that criminals always follow policy.

Think about this, they will publicly state they have a 'no firearms' policy, but don't post to prevent patrons from carrying. This gives them an out from a legal standpoint if anyone ever wants to sue them for allowing people to carry firearms, or in the case of the concealed carrier getting sued by the family of the perp, keeps them from being accused of supporting the good guys actions with a gun.

I saw this tactic used numerous times over my 37 years in the corporate world; it's called 'plausible deniability' https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plausible_deniability

I've eaten at many different WH's and never seen posting of any sort whether legitimate or not. I suppose that's a CYA for them. I don't go very often but would hate to have to give them up.
