The future of gun rights

Re: The future of gun rights
I am a millennial as well and can’t stand my generation. I have been an NRA member for the last three years. Lately the NRA has been doing things I don’t agree with. The agree to get rid of bump fire stocks. While I will agree those don’t affect 90% of us but they do the other 10. All it is, is an accessory. Soon they will ban adjustable stocks then they will bad pistol grips then they will limit us to 10 rounds only. They start with something small that they think nobody will care about and work their way up. They came for our statues, they changed the name of streets and Parks and schools. They are trying to erase history a little at a time. Just like they are trying to do to our gun rights.

This is exactly what scares me. Sure bump fire stocks are just a gimmick and are harder on your guns but I dont want them banned. They may be stupid but no need to ban them because then it will open a door to a slow erosion of the second amendment.

The door is already open. Time for the GOP to start closing the doors or admit they're no different than the Ds.Logan'sGlock wrote:This is exactly what scares me. Re: The future of gun rights
My thread is still very relevant today as it was in october. Should we be worried at all on the future of our gun rights?
Re: The future of gun rights
My problem is with what I am hearing about the wording of the bump stock ban they are talking about. If it was just narrowly restricting bump fire devices, that is one thing. However, I am hearing the wording actually ban/restricts "rate increasing devices". That could be stretched to cover a whole lot more than just bump fire devices. Also, I am hearing this will be a "turn them all in" rule with no grandfather clause. It also bothers me that the leader of the NRA started that ball rolling.

For those concerned about the future of gun rights, keep in mind that early voting runs until March 2.

For those concerned about the future of gun rights, keep in mind the incumbents' progress on national reciprocity, the hearing protection act, and other gun rights restoration bills.

Chinese paper says U.S. should learn from China, restrict guns, protect rights
https://www.reuters.com/article/us-chin ... SKCN1G703WThe United States should learn from China and “genuinely” protect human rights by restricting gun ownership, an editorial in a widely read state-run Chinese newspaper said on Friday.

Re: The future of gun rights
Google china and knife attacks. Bottom line, bad people will do bad things. They will do those things with what is available
to them, that has been the case since the beginning of time. Restricting the rights of everybody in hopes of stopping a few
bad people who, may/may not, be deranged is foolish and wrong IMO. MOST things on this planet can be used to harm others
if that thought is in ones head. Look at our cars, auto braking, lane control, etc... Personal responsibility, common sense,
among others, no longer seem to exist.
Sorry, I will step down now and take some deep breaths.

Clearly identifies who the friends of the left are in this country.
The left lies about everything. Truth is a liberal value, and truth is a conservative value, but it has never been a left-wing value. People on the left say whatever advances their immediate agenda. Power is their moral lodestar; therefore, truth is always subservient to it. - Dennis Prager

Don't be too hard on your generational peers, it was my generation that created, raised and enabled your generation. We aren't very good at taking that responsibility. It's much easier to blame the millennials.Logan'sGlock wrote:With all the recent events that have happened recently I worry about the future of our gun rights. All these talks about bump fire stocks with both ban support on both sides. This compromise I feel is a very slippery slope which could lead to more compromises. I am a millenial but also see how idiotic and uneducated my generation is. The point is where do you see this going. 5 10 or even 20 years down the road. I worry that one day I may not be able to teach my kids how to shoot like my dad did or my grandfather taught my dad.

Maybe I’m too hard on them but the whole tide pod idiocracy doesnt help there cause. People who eat laundry detergent should have no opinion on our second amendment.

That's a strong point.
