Shortage of Gold Dot ammo?

#1

Post by TreyHouston »

Im out of self defense ammo and was looking to get some more gold dot 124 or 124+P. It seems very hard to find right now without paying an inflated price. Anyone else notice this? Or am I just “trippin”

Ammunition Depot has 77 boxes left as of right now, at a little over $25 per box of 50 (not including tax/shipping/etc).

ETA: Beiruty's link has the same, but for $21/box of 50. I might have a new favorite vendor... :tiphat:

SGAmmo usually keeps stock also. That's what I have in all my 9's, and have for years. Soft shooting, accurate, never had failure of any type, and performs well in nearly every test, reguardless of gun or barrel length. I know there are newer designs, but I'm gonna stick with old and reliable.

Yes, they seem to be the only ones who have it at a decent price. I bought a few +P 124 boxes.

Mods, feel free to lock if ya want

I went to Carters Country (none, but they could order it) and made a special trip to Gander Mountain (one boc of 110gr)
Both listed on Gold Dots website as carriers. :???:

Have anyone call Speer and ask them who would be the most likely place to look.
I don't have any doubt rounds from Fed, Speer, Win ,Rem , Hornaday I have used them all. A friend and I were talking about
what to carry and I had to look in my edc to see what I had in it.The only round of factory that fail to fire was 38SP at the club
a woman was shooting and had a miss fire i n a rev. They threw all of there brass in a bucket and when they started to leave
I ask if I could have the brass and they said they don't reload. I took it home and carefuly opened the round and found the anvil
was missing. It was all Remington Factory ammo and that says it could happened to anyone at any time.
Is there a job reason like a leo or just personal preferance.
I have several boxes of bullets that have a miss mark and I call Speer and the were very thankful for the call. I had the bullet I wanted but
I had the wrong size in the label. Printing and some proof reader missed it and they went to print and labeled the boxes wrong. I
sent them a scan of it to convince them it was so. I still have several.
