Very nice rig. I like single actions and western rigs. I've found that brass cases in leather loops tend to corrode after a while. If you use those cartridges and replace them often it shouldn't be a problem. If they stay there I'd suggest nickle plated cases. You don't have to get silver bullets, though!cmgee67 wrote:D

What cal Vaquero do you have? I have one in 44-40. I love shooting it, but lordy the ammo is pricey.cmgee67 wrote:I'm needing suggestions for a good rig to carry my Ruger vaquero. I'd like the old western style with the bullet loops and for the holster to have a leather hammer thong to keep it in the holster when I'm on the four wheeler or tractor. This will be my ranch rig and huntin rig. I know a good fitting holster should have plenty of retention but I'd like the thong just in case. Anybody point me in the right direction?

357 magnum. You can buy Tula steel case ammo for around 18$ a box at academy for 50 rounds but if your gonna shoot brass is over 20$ a box there. So she isn't very cheap to shoot either. I love shooting 357 tho.
