My take on this is Walmart's parking lots are vast providing a lot of places for bad guys to "dry-gulch" the unaware and unsuspecting.

What to do?

Keep your eyes moving as you constantly scan for movement, (not on your idiot phone-this is one area you best stop obsessing, caressing, staring at it...) repeatedly look behind you and be ready for the unexpected.

As we all know, vast parking lots are not exclusive to Walmart. Hello Academy, Fry's, etc. Stay alert, eyes constantly looking in all directions for movement, be ready to defend yourself and chances are highly increased you'll not be "dry-gulched".

Just an FYI, It's not the phone that's "IDIOT"!

Mel,

Right you are!

It's the neurotic holding, cuddling, and mooning over it I should have more correctly identified.

They are held in thrall to something that has the potential for getting them killed in places like a Walmart parking lot because they can't tear their eyes away long enough to look out for themselves.
