My primary carry guns are my G26 and G19 and they work perfect on 95% of most occasions but there are a handful of times a month that I can't carry either because they are too big so I'm looking for a small single stack 9mm. Small enough for pocket carry but not to small I can't get a grip on. I have owned a Glock 43 and didn't like the gun. I love Glock but don't like the 43. I have shot the S&W shield but I don't like it either or the ruger LCP or LC9. So those are ruled out. If you guys have any suggestions please throw them out.
SIG p938. It's slightly larger than the p238 which is the .380 version. Both are modeled after the 1911. I personally own and love the p238.
Also the Kimber Ultra Carry II. Not 100% sure it's single stack but I believe so. Dad has his with him so I can't check it.
Yes, the Kimber Ultra pistols are single stack, but you're not going to put one in your pocket unless you have pockets like Captain Kangaroo. ;-)

I have a Sig P290RS that I like. It is small enough to fit in the front pocket of my cargo shorts. Some say it is too heavy, but I don't have an issue with it. It is a DAO with a long but smooth trigger pull.. I prefer this over carrying cocked and locked in a pocket.

+1 for the P938. It's pretty much the smallest 9mm you can get, but it's still accurate and comfortable to shoot. I had a Kahr PM9 for awhile but never really liked it. I traded it out for a P938, and I've never looked back.

I own a Taurus single stack "slim" it's ok, not really a pocket carry.
I own a parkerized Keltec PF9 ... bought it, took it to the range once, painful to shoot because the squared off area on the grip/tang hit my thumb joint.. I'd rather shoot a Diamondback DB9 in about the same size, if you get a reliable one.

I'd go with Kahr PM9 due to size in pocket carry, I don't own one, yet. Ihave almost bought one several times, probably will. But I understand with Kahr >>you must "break them in" ... I have not tried a P938, nor compared P938 to the Kahr PM9, if they are comparable size/weight ...
(I pocket carry a Glock 26 daily, but yep, you gotta have pants with the pockets for it, not all work.)

Yes with the kahr breakin is a must, after aprx 250rds mine became solid as a rock.
Word of advice though don't try to put 200+ rounds though it at once, you hand will thank you

I own the following small single stack 9mms and recommend them:

- Kahr PM9
- Walther PPS (original)
- Walther CCP (my current preferred small carry gun, but it's a little big for pocket carry)

The Sig P238 is good to, pocket ready, but a .380.

True. However, the Storms width is only 1.2" compared to 1.1 " for the Sig. www.px4storm.com/px4storm_technicaldata.aspx

CMGee67,

I am in the same market. I have been reading all the options that have been listed. My question is what did you not like about the Glock 43? The 43 was on my list to try along with the XDs 9.

Thanks for your time.
