Do they not have state pre-emption in Nevada? Kind of scary to think that we need to research the laws and ordinances of every city within that state.

The Clark Co exemption is a thing of the past. You can even carry in casinos.

Vegas has recently received a "DiNozzo Slap" to the back of their "Head" and been informed by the state that they can't "create any laws about firearms" that the state doesn't say they can. It is called preemption. It actually happened several years ago and was recently reinforced.

I'm not sure if this was ever the case, but Las Vegas' laws about handguns that were more restrictive than the rest of the state are gone now (no more pistol registration for residents, etc).

San Antonio had the same slap from Texas not long ago about their knife rules being more restrictive than the states. I was glad to see that finally happen.

According to revisions in Nevada law, Vegas is kinda like UT professors...not quite as special as they think they are and just as subject to the law as the rest of us meer citizens.

Also good as a backup in case you have to use your pistol and your Texas license gets held as evidence, you can legally carry on another state's license unless you are convicted.

????? Never heard of a license being held for evidence. The state already has a copy and all the information on it and more. I guess you could always sharpen the end and use it as a blade.

I have heard of it, twice in fact. Pretty sure it is SOP for a shooting involving a license holder to take it until you are no-billed by a grand jury.

Whats dumb! Innocent till proven guilty?? Why aren't other licenses treated the same?? Drivers license, law or medical license??

There is a big difference btween suspending a license if charged (you don't even have to use your firearm for that) and
( ) holding it for evidence ( )

If they send it to the grand jury without charges, you keep your license. I know of that once.
