overall the process exceeded my expectation as I thought from reading the forum there's a backlog and I shouldn't get my hopes up too much less than a month. I guess they are automating more and getting more people to work due to demand?

i know !! i was trying not to get my hopes up yesterday but then i saw a DPS envelop and i am like YES ! it was at the bottom of my mail. hopefully you'll get yours by saturday !
I'm hoping it'll be like some of these guys/gals, where it updated to "mailed" late and they got theirs on the same day.

I'm sitting on day 80, with fingerprint and background still "under review". In the meantime I have purchased another carry gun and completed a extensive background/credit check for a new job with no issues. Finally broke down and reached out to state rep who is going to contact DPS on my behalf. Will see if that gets anywhere.
I called yesterday, spoke with a very nice girl that said they had everything and she was forwarding it too the processing people. I don't know if she's blowing smoke up my rear end but at day 108 it was slightly reassuring
Hey guys I'm new here. Check this i took my LTC course with my ohio DL thinking i was going to head back to ohio and i got a job here in texas so i changed my DL back to texas and i just sent in my chl 100 now i have to send a letter requesting a change of my application to reflect my DL so this is going to take a very long time. Even longer if there are any issues i have to resolve
This is the second time I've renewed, first time online.
Applied for renewal online: 4/10/16
These status items are yellow
Fingerprints : Under review
Background Check : Under review
License To Carry A Handgun : Print pending completion of application review
All other status items are green.
The previous renewal went much more quickly despite having to mail in all the required materials as was the requirement back then. Current wait time is 3 months and counting.
